Store site recommendation aims to predict the value of the store at candidate locations and then recommend the optimal location to the company for placing a new brick-and-mortar store. Most existing studies focus on learning machine learning or deep learning models based on large-scale training data of existing chain stores in the same city. However, the expansion of chain enterprises in new cities suffers from data scarcity issues, and these models do not work in the new city where no chain store has been placed (i.e., cold-start problem). In this article, we propose a unified approach for cold-start store site recommendation, Weighted Adversarial Network with Transferability weighting scheme (WANT), to transfer knowledge learned from a data-rich source city to a target city with no labeled data. In particular, to promote positive transfer, we develop a discriminator to diminish distribution discrepancy between source city and target city with different data distributions, which plays the minimax game with the feature extractor to learn transferable representations across cities by adversarial learning. In addition, to further reduce the risk of negative transfer, we design a transferability weighting scheme to quantify the transferability of examples in source city and reweight the contribution of relevant source examples to transfer useful knowledge. We validate WANT using a real-world dataset, and experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed model over several state-of-the-art baseline models.

In the field of air navigation, there is a constant pursuit for new navigation solutions for precise GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) positioning of aircraft. This study aims to present the results of research on the development of a new method for improving the performance of PPP (Precise Point Positioning) positioning in the GPS (Global Positioning System) and GLONASS (Globalnaja Nawigacionnaja Sputnikovaya Sistema) systems for air navigation. The research method is based on a linear combination of individual position solutions from the GPS and GLONASS systems. The paper shows a computational scheme based on the linear combination for geocentric XYZ coordinates of an aircraft. The algorithm of the new research method uses the weighted mean method to determine the resultant aircraft position. The research method was tested on GPS and GLONASS kinematic data from an airborne experiment carried out with a Seneca Piper PA34-200T aircraft at the Mielec airport. A dual-frequency dual-system GPS/GLONASS receiver was placed on-board the plane, which made it possible to record GNSS observations, which were then used to calculate the aircraft’s position in CSRS-PPP software. The calculated XYZ position coordinates from the CSRS-PPP software were then used in the weighted mean model’s developed optimization algorithm. The measurement weights are a function of the number of GPS and GLONASS satellites and the inverse of the mean error square. The obtained coordinates of aircraft from the research model were verified with the RTK-OTF solution. As a result of the research, the presented solution’s accuracy is better by 11–87% for the model with a weighting scheme as a function of the inverse of the mean error square. Moreover, using the XYZ position from the RTKLIB program, the research method’s accuracy increases from 45% to 82% for the model with a weighting scheme as a function of the inverse of the square of mean error. The developed method demonstrates high efficiency for improving the performance of GPS and GLONASS solutions for the PPP measurement technology in air navigation.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to define the sustainability attributes of frozen and fresh food consumption in a typical household. The reason for writing this paper is that food preservation is often overlooked when developing sustainability strategies. Design/methodology/approach – This study uses established carbon footprint data for specific food types and consumer survey data to determine how consumers use fresh and frozen products in the home. Consumption and waste data for 83 households was obtained using a combination of narrative and graphical association questions. Findings – The results show greenhouse gas emissions associated with a diets containing frozen food are reduced because 47 per cent less frozen foods is wasted as compared to fresh foods with a typical household wasting 10.4 per cent of fresh food and 5.9 per cent frozen food. Research limitations/implications – This research has highlighted the importance of understanding the waste impacts of catering and food service consumption outside the home. Practical implications – This research will guide future product development for frozen foods with regard to dietary planning and portion control. Social implications – The cost and sustainability benefits of meal planning are identified and these will inform policy making and education to improve dietary choices. Originality/value – This work extends the scope of current consumer surveys that assess quality, value and taste attributes to sustainability criteria and it will enable collaboration between fresh and frozen product categories to deliver sustainable dietary options.

In this paper, through analysis of the structure of web news texts, we have proposed an improvement measure for term weighting in hot topics detection, and a topic weighting scheme for hot topics ranking. Experiment result comparison shows that our method is effective and ranking of hot topics is closer to reality.
