Abstract TANTALOY 60 Metal is a vacuum-melted, solid-solution alloy of tantalum and tungsten. It retains useful strength up to 4500 F. Its corrosion resistance is similar to unalloyed tantalum and it is only slightly more difficult to fabricate. If high-temperature exposure is under conditions other than vacuum or inert atmosphere, coating protection may be required. The alloy is used in highly specialized and sophisticated aerospace system applications and in special chemical process. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Ta-9. Producer or source: Fansteel Metallurgical Corporation.

Abstract STOODY 4 is a cobalt-chromium-tungsten alloy with excellent high-temperature strength and excellent resistance to corrosion. This alloy derives its high-temperature strength from the high tungsten-to-carbon ratio which allows a large percentage of tungsten to remain in solid solution. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive strength. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Co-75. Producer or source: WRAP Division, Stoody Company.

Abstract HASTELLOY alloy B-2 has outstanding corrosion resistance in the as-welded condition. It is an improved wrought version of HASTELLOY alloy B with the same excellent corrosion resistance as alloy B, but with improved resistance to knife line and heat-affected zone attack. Alloy B-2 resists the formation of grain-boundry carbide precipitates in the weld heat-affected zone, thus making it suitable for most chemical process applications in the as-welded condition. This alloy also has excellent resistance to pitting and stress-corrosion cracking. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: Ni-249. Producer or source: Stellite Division, Cabot Corporation.

Abstract ZIRCADYNE 702 is described as unalloyed zirconium despite the fact that it contains hafnium (4.5% max.) from its ore. Hafnium is very similar to zirconium metallurgically and chemically and is not detrimental to corrosion resistance and other characteristics of zirconium in most applications (except nuclear). Because of its excellent resistance to many corrosive media and its good mechanical and heat-transfer properties, Zircadyne 702 has found widespread use in many chemical process applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fatigue. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: Zr-7. Producer or source: Teledyne Wah Chang Albany.
