Abstract UNICUT 2 is a high-carbon, high-vanadium, molybdenum-type of high-speed steel. The high carbon and vanadium contents provide higher resistance to abrasion when compared with other standard high-speed steels; however, this is accomplished at a slight loss in machinability and grind-ability. In many cases, this is considered to be of minor consequence where better wear resistance is required. Typical applications include drills, reamers, milling cutters, broaches and wood-working tools. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and hardness. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: TS-406. Producer or source: Cyclops Corporation.

Abstract AL Tech DBL-3 is a molybdenum-type of high-speed steel containing relatively high carbon and vanadium to provide high resistance to abrasion. It shows marked superiority over many other high-speed steels in applications where abrasion resistance is a factor. Its many applications include taps, milling cutters, broaches and drills. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and hardness as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-347. Producer or source: AL Tech Specialty Steel Corporation.

Abstract BETHLEHEM M-7 is a high-molybdenum type of high-speed steel. Because of its high-carbon and high-vanadium contents, it has superior resistance to abrasion and is used for tools where edge toughness and wear resistance are required. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: TS-332. Producer or source: Bethlehem Steel Corporation.

Abstract VASCO M-50 is a hardenable (martensitic), low-alloy high-speed steel developed primarily for high-strength, high-load components (such as bearings and gears) designed for elevated-temperature service. It may be used at temperatures up to 600 F; this is in contrast to AISI 52100 steel which may be used up to only 350 F. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: TS-278. Producer or source: Teledyne Vasco.

Abstract Crucible CPM Rex 54 HS is a cobalt-bearing high speed tool steel that is produced by the proprietary Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process. It combines the wear properties of the popular high vanadium M4 grade with the red hardness of the cobalt-bearing M35/Crucible CPM Rex 45 HS grades. Crucible CPM Rex 54 HS may be used as an upgrade for improved red hardness over M3 or M4 without giving up the abrasion resistance, or as an upgrade for improved wear resistance over M35 or Crucible CPM Rex 45 HS without giving up the red hardness. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, microstructure, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on wear resistance as well as heat treating and surface treatment. Filing Code: TS-818. Producer or source: Crucible Industries LLC.
