PYROVAN
Abstract PYROVAN is nominally a 5% chromium, air-hardening die steel with more carbon and vanadium than found in AISI Type H13. PYROVAN has improved wear resistance over conventional die steels. The optimum combination of alloying elements in this grade promotes a good balance of properties. It has excellent non-deforming characteristics and high hardenability. PYROVAN has a wide range of usable hardness and is ideally suited for numerous cold and hot-working applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-208. Producer or source: Latrobe Steel Company.
