Adenocarcinoma is the most common variant of gallbladder carcinoma. Adenosquamous carcinoma and pure squamous cell carcinoma are rare variants accounting for only up to 3% of the tumors. Pure squamous cell carcinoma of the gallbladder is reported and its incidence is less than 1%. Usually they present at advanced stage and many of the times these are unresectable. Hence survival in patients with squamous cell carcinoma is less than adenocarcinoma, and carries a bad prognosis. We report a rare case of squamous cell carcinoma gallbladder, which was well differentiated, diagnosed early and resected completely. Postoperatively patient is planned for adjuvant chemotherapy.

Primary squamous cell carcinoma of the renal parenchyma is an extremely rare entity. The diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma of the renal pelvis is usually unsuspected due to the rarity and inconclusive clinical and radiological features. Most of the patients are diagnosed at an advanced stage and are with poor outcome. Radical nephrectomy is the mainstay of the treatment. We reported a case of squamous cell carcinoma of the kidney in a 50-year-old female who presented with the right sided abdomen pain. The patient was treated with radical nephrectomy.

Primary vaginal carcinoma in uterovaginal prolapse is a rare entity. We report a case of an 84-years-old lady, who presented with long standing vaginal ulcer in association with third degree uterovaginal prolapse. Incisional biopsy was taken from the ulcer. Histopathological examination showed a large cell keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma. Keywords: Squamous cell carcinoma, uterovaginal prolapse, vaginal carcinoma.

Metastatic spread of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) to the gastrointestinal tract is a rare entity. A 63-year-old woman with a history of poorly controlled HIV and a recurrent cSCC on the right temple presented with functional decline, ascites and shortness of breath. A CT scan showed widespread metastatic malignancy involving lung, pleura, heart, stomach, liver, retroperitoneum and soft-tissue. In the case presented here, an upper endoscopy revealed a submucosal lesion in the stomach. Biopsies described the lesion as a poorly differentiated SCC. Comprehensive genomic profiling yielded striking molecular similarities between the gastric tumour and the patient’s prior cSCC. It confirmed the origin of the disease and excluded spread from an occult primary. This case adds to the limited literature on gastrointestinal metastases of cSCC and serves as a reminder that non-AIDS-defining cancers are on the rise in the HIV-population.

Gallbladder cancer is a relatively rare malignancy that is generally diagnosed at an advanced stage. Palliative chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or immunotherapy may be appropriate options for advanced gallbladder cancer, instead of radical surgery. In the present report, we describe an extremely unusual case of a 59-year-old man diagnosed with advanced primary squamous cell carcinoma of the gallbladder, according to imagological and pathological examinations. The symptoms of the patient were atypical. Preliminary data indicated that not only the systemic inflammatory biomarkers neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio, platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio, and lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio but also jaundice might be correlated with the prognosis. Although the patient was treated with the best supportive care, overall survival time was only about 2 months. Advanced primary squamous cell carcinoma of gallbladder is incurable and highly lethal.
