The purpose of this study was to compare the damage risk of 85 and 90 dBA of white noise for equivalent full-day exposures. The damage risk of the two noise levels was determined by comparing the temporary threshold shift (TTS) of 12 subjects exposed to either 85 or 90 dBA of white noise for equivalent half- and full-day exposures. TTS was determined by comparing the pre- and postexposure binaural audiograms of each subject at 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8 kHz. It was concluded that the potential damage risk, that is, hazardous effect, of 90 dBA is greater than 85 dBA of noise for equivalent full-day exposures. The statistical difference between the overall effects of equivalent exposures to 85 dBA as compared to 90 dBA of noise could not be traced to any one frequency. The damage risk of a full-day exposure to 85 dBA is equivalent to that of a half-day exposure to 90 dBA of noise. Within the limits of this study, TTS t was as effective as TTS 2 for estimating the damage risk of noise exposure.

PEMERINTAH melalui Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan, telah mengeluarkan kebijakan Full Day School (FDS). Kebijakan tersebut tertuang dalam Permendikbud Nomor 23 Tahun 2017 tentang Hari Sekolah. Dalam Pasal 2 butir 1 disebutkan bahwa Hari Sekolah dilaksanakan 8 (delapan) jam dalam 1 (satu) hari atau 40 (empat puluh) jam selama 5 (lima) hari dalam 1 (satu) minggu. Dalam bahasa keseharian, kebijakan ini dikenal dengan sebutan sekolah lima hari (SLH). Kebijakan SLH ini menuai pro dan kontra di masyarakat. Bagi yang setuju, kebijakan ini dianggap sebagai ikhtiar untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan. Kebijakan tersebut juga bisa menambah waktu kebersamaan anak-anak dengan orang tua. Sementara yang menolaknya berargumen bahwa kebijakan ini akan menggerus keberadaan TPQ, madrasah diniyah, dan atau pendidikan keagamaan lainnya. Kebijakan ini dianggap tidak sesuai dengan sosiologis masyarakat Indonesia.

Tegal bukanlah kota pendidikan tetapi lebih dikenal kulinernya sate tegal dan tahu aci. Tegal juga dikenal sebagai Jepangnya Jawa Tengah, karena bisa memproduksi berbagai alat-alat imitasi yang mirip dengan produsen jepang. Tegal juga dikenal dengan wartegnya. Meskipun bukan kota pendidikan, tetapi dalam konteks implementasi Full Day School (FDS), barangkali kita bisa belajar dari sekolah yang ada di Tegal. Sebutlah misalnya, Yayasan Perguruan Islam (YPI) Ihsaniyah, sebuah yayasan tertua dan terbesar di Kota Tegal dalam merespon kebijakan FDS. Mafhum bahwa Permendikbud Nomor 23 Tahun 2017 tentang Hari Sekolah telah membuat “gaduh” di masyarakat. Sehingga muncullah Peraturan Presiden Nomor 87 Tahun 2017 tentang Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter. Dalam Pasal 9, disebutkan Penyelenggaraan PPK pada Satuan Pendidikan jalur Pendidikan Formal dilaksanakan selama 6 (enam) atau 5 (lima) hari sekolah dalam 1 (satu) minggu.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh program pendidikan Full Day Schoolterhadap perkembangan kecerdasan social emosional anak usia dini TKIT di DIY. Jenispenelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian survey denganpendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah guru dari 7 TKIT yang ada diDIY dengan teknik sampling acak bertingkat (multistage random sampling). Teknikpengumpulan data menggunakan kuisioner, wawancara dan observasi, sedangkan teknisanalisis data menggunakan regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwatidak adanya pengaruh program pendidikan Full Day School terhadap perkembangankecerdasan social emosional anak usia dini TKIT di DIY karena lebih dipengaruhi olehfaktor pengasuhan, pembimbingan dan keteladanan.Kata kunci: full day school, kecerdasan sosial emosional, anak usia dini

The United States Bureau of Efficiency (BOE), which had been established in 1916, was abolished in 1933 when President Hoover signed an omnibus appropriation bill on his last full day in office. Given Hoover's commitment to businesslike and efficient management and his ongoing support for the work of the Bureau throughout his presidency, what if he had acted differently and prevented its abolition? This fictional public administration history explores how Hoover could have kept BOE in existence and, if he had, how six of his successors might have treated the agency as part of their administrations.

Background: New York City is a gateway for emerging pathogens and global threats. In 2013, faculty from Montefiore Medical Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering developed a free half-day workshop for postgraduate trainees in antimicrobial stewardship (AS), infection prevention (IP), hospital epidemiology, and public health. This annual workshop, sponsored by the Infectious Diseases Society of New York (IDSNY), incorporates case studies and expert panel discussions on timely topics such as Ebola, Candida auris, Clostridiodes difficile, measles, nosocomial influenza, drug shortages, and AS/IP “big data.” Methods: From 2013 through 2017, the workshop involved 10–15 interactive AS/IP cases with audience response questions and panel discussions. In 2018–2019, based on feedback, the format was revised to emphasize breakout sessions in which participants actively practiced AS/IP tools, (eg, medication utilization evaluations, epidemiologic curves, and performance improvement devices). Examples of 2018–2019 cases are shown in Figure 1. A pre- and postseminar paper survey was conducted yearly to understand baseline training in AS/IP, desire for future AS/IP careers, and self-reported effectiveness of the workshop. Results: Initially, the primary audience was NYC ID fellows. From 2018 onward, we opened enrollment to pharmacy residents. Approximately 45 NYC ID fellows were eligible for the course each year. Results from 2013 to 2016 surveys were reported previously (Fig. 2). There were 32 attendees in 2018, 42 in 2019. The survey response rate was 88% in 2018 and 95% in 2019, with 68 (92%) total participants. Most participants had received previous training in IP (82%) and AS (94%) (Fig. 3). Most participants reported that the program was a good supplement to their ID training (98%) and that case studies were an effective means of learning IP (100%) and AS (98%). Furthermore, 92% stated they would like additional AS/IP training, and many since 2013 have requested a full-day course. Self-reported interest in future involvement in AS/IP increased after the workshop: IP, 68%–83% (P =.04) and AS, 88%–91% (P = .61). Conclusions: Most trainees reported satisfaction with the workshop and case-study learning method; interest in future AS/IP careers increased after the seminar. We intend to explore Funding: to expand to a full-day program for all NYC postgraduate trainees and AS/IP junior faculty. As such, we hope to obtain the endorsement of professional societies such as SHEA.
