Deficiency of traditional lifting equipment selection among Multi-Rope mining friction hoist mainly displays in: the existence of larger theoretical and practical deviation of skip load. Key components do not match lifting machine. In consistency between design and actual situation, significantly affected the accuracy of the lifting equipment type selection.Therefore according to the working conditions, it has set up some different multiple mathematical models by the stepwise regression method, nonlinear regression modeling method, method of weighted coefficient and other different modeling methods. Design and select the optimal model for user interface screen by using Matlab GUI and access to calculation data and describe the graphic curve for various model result. Calculate the model results and the average error of the standard load and obtain the optimal model. Finally, design out the lifting equipment selection software of different situations such as economic speed, cycle time, single and double skip, which reduce the selection error, tedious calculation, low efficiency. At the same time, it is convenient for user to use and can constantly expand other functions.

Abstract In this paper we present an empirical study among 40 participants which investigates the relationship between various factors of user interface aesthetics on the one hand, and the influence of the user interface attributes, symmetry, colorfulness as well as visual complexity on user interface aesthetics on the other hand. The user interface aesthetics will be classified in intuitive aesthetics (1st impression with a presentation time of 500 ms) and reflective aesthetics (reflective long-term impression after a longer presentation). Reflective aesthetics is further classified in classical aesthetics (common attractiveness) as well as expressive aesthetics (creativity). For this study we have set up a corpus of 30 websites which are used as stimulus material. In a multi-step lab experiment, participants rate aesthetics and their subjective impression concerning user interface attributes using questionnaires. We are able to show that the intuitive aesthetic judgment correlates strongly with the reflective judgment. The symmetry of a website positively correlates with all definitions of aesthetics, especially with the classical or traditional interpretation in the sense of attractiveness. Visual complexity can be seen as the strongest predictor for the aesthetic judgement of users and it negatively correlates with all definitions. Concerning colorfulness, a preference for websites of a medium degree of colorfulness for the intuitive as well as the classical aesthetics can be stated. Concerning expressive aesthetics, websites of moderate to high colorfulness receive the best judgments. The relationships which we have found are finally discussed in the context of previous research and some implications for future user interface design are given.

This paper introduces a graphical user interface approach to facilitate an efficient and timely generation of statistic data from input videos. By means of a carefully-designed graphical user interface, users can interactively add in various kinds of markers, known as the statistic inducers, on the screen of an input video to specify the areas of interest corresponding to the locations of relevant events. These inducers are in the form of two-dimensional points, lines, polygons, and grids, and can be put on the video screen with great ease. Using these inducers, we not only can efficiently customize the system for a given statistic generation task; in addition, we can also precisely constrain the time-consuming space-time video analysis process (as well as any additional analysis process like optical flow computation or object recognition) on the user-specified areas. To demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed approach, we developed a prototypic system and experimented it in two different statistic generation cases: dormitory light switching and road traffic. In both cases, we just need a few minutes of UI customization time to set up the inducers; once this is done, timely statistics can be automatically generated subsequently.

Optimization of process steam requirement in order to maximize sugar recovery and export power along with manpower optimization is a must for sugar factories to survive under difficult conditions and to earn additional revenues. The process steam demand of greenfield and revamped plants has been reduced to levels of 32–38% from originally more than 50% steam on cane in the case of the brownfield plants. In addition, significant improvement in the power requirement of the plants has been achieved. Bagasse drying offers a good potential to improve the power export. Different available concepts are compared with a focus on bagasse steam drying and low temperature bagasse drying. In order to set up an optimized highly efficient plant or to optimize an existing plant to achieve competitive benchmarks, good process design and the right equipment selection are very important. Experience has been gained with multiple stage or double effect crystallization in the beet sugar industry offering further steam optimization potential. Vapour recompression is also an option to substitute live steam by electrical power. This even provides options to reduce the steam demand from the power plant for the sugar process down to zero. Key aspects concerning the process design and equipment selection are described.
