AC Vista is a hard white spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) with resistance to preharvest sprouting. It combines high grain yield and resistance to prevalent races of leaf rust, stem rust, common bunt, and loose smut except race T9 in a semidwarf photoperiod insensitive background. AC Vista has harder kernels and stronger gluten than AC Karma. It is eligible for grades of the Canada Prairie Spring (White) wheat class. Key words: Triticum aestivum L., cultivar description, white spring wheat, preharvest sprouting resistance, common bunt resistance, high grain yield

Lovitt hard red spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is adapted to the Canadian prairies. Lovitt is earlier maturing than AC Barrie with similar grain yield and smaller kernels. Lovitt has resistance to prevalent races of leaf and stem rust and loose smut. Lovitt has very good pre-harvest sprouting resistance similar to RL4137. Lovitt is eligible for grades of the Canada Western Red Spring wheat class. Key words: Triticum aestivum L., cultivar description, resistance to leaf and stem rust, dormancy

White-seeded spring wheat germplasm line W98616 was selected for improved levels of preharvest sprouting resistance. W98616 has levels of seed dormancy comparable to Columbus, a red-seeded sprouting-resistant cultivar. W98616 has similar test weight, kernel weight, maturity, plant height, grain protein, and kernel hardness, but is lower yielding and 2 d later heading relative to BW264, a hard white wheat cultivar. Key words: Triticum aestivum L., germplasm, white spring wheat, preharvest sprouting resistance

AC Corinne is a hard red spring wheat belonging to the Canada Western Extra Strong (CWES) class. It has superior preharvest sprouting resistance and improved leaf rust resistance compared to Glenlea and Wildcat, and is higher yielding than Wildcat. AC Corinne has extra strong wheat quality similar to Glenlea combined with higher grain protein content. It is adapted to the wheat growing areas of the prairie provinces. Key words: Triticum aestivum L., Canada Western Extra Strong, hard red spring wheat, cultivar description, yield, disease resistance

AC Crystal is a red-seeded spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). In combining high grain yield and resistance to prevalent races of common bunt in a semidwarf, photoperiod-insensitive background it is similar to AC Taber. It has improvements relative to AC Taber: resistance to prevalent races of loose smut, except race T9, and stronger gluten properties. AC Crystal has improved resistance to leaf spots compared to Neepawa, AC Karma, and AC Foremost. It is eligible for grades of the Canada Prairie Spring (Red) wheat class. Key words: Triticum aestivum L., cultivar description, loose smut resistance, common bunt resistance, high yield, red spring wheat

Sadash is a soft white spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) that meets the end-use quality specifications of the Canada Western Soft White Spring class. Sadash is well-adapted to the wheat-growing regions of southern Alberta and southern Saskatchewan. Based on data from the Western Soft White Spring Wheat Cooperative Registration Test from 2003 to 2005, Sadash exhibited high grain yield, mid-season maturity, semi-dwarf stature with very strong straw, and good resistance to shattering. Sadash expressed resistance to the prevalent races of stem rust and powdery mildew, intermediate resistance to loose smut, moderate susceptibility to leaf rust and common bunt, and susceptibility to Fusarium head blight. Based on end-use quality analysis performed at the Grain Research Laboratory of the Canadian Grain Commission, Sadash had improved test weight over the check cultivars AC Reed and AC Phil and similar milling and baking performance.Key words: Triticum aestivum L., cultivar description, wheat (soft white spring), grain yield, quality, disease resistance

Glenavon hard red extra strong spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is adapted to the Canadian prairies. It combines 2 to 6% higher grain yield with improved test weight compared to AC Corinne, Glenlea and Wildcat. It is resistant to moderately resistant to prevalent races of leaf and stem rust, resistant to loose smut, and of intermediate resistance to common bunt. Glenavon is eligible for all grades of the Canada Western Extra Strong wheat class. Key words: Triticum aestivum L., Canada Western Extra Strong, hard red extra strong spring wheat, cultivar description, yield, disease resistance

HY355, white spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) combines high grain yield, normal height and photoperiod insensitivity. HY355 is heterogeneous for kernel hardness with 55% of the breeder lines rated hard and 45% rated soft. HY355 is the first registered wheat cultivar eligible for grades of Canada Prairie Spring (white). It received a 2-yr interim registration on 6 May 1988.Key words: Wheat (spring), cultivar description

Lillian, hard red spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), exhibited reduced cutting by the wheat stem sawfly (Cephus cinctus Nort.) and is adapted to the Canadian prairies. Lillian produced significantly more grain yield than AC Abbey and Neepawa and its grain yield and protein concentration were similar to AC Barrie. It matured significantly earlier than Superb and Laura, and had improved resistance to leaf rust and leaf spotting diseases compared to AC Abbey. Lillian is eligible for all grades of the Canada Western Red Spring (CWRS) wheat class. Key words: Triticum aestivum L., cultivar description, grain yield and protein, resistance wheat stem sawfly, leaf and stem rust

AC Wilmot is a spring feed wheat (Triticum aestivum L. em Thell.) with more grain yield than the check cultivars in Atlantic Canada. It is moderately resistant to powdery mildew. The reaction of AC Wilmot to leaf and glume blotch is similar to the check cultivars. AC Wilmot is slightly more susceptible to fusarium head blight than the check cultivars. AC Wilmot is suitable for production in Atlantic Canada. Key words: Triticum aestivum, wheat (spring), cultivar description
