Abstract Introduction. Alopecia areata (AA) is an autoimmune disease-causing non-scarring alopecia. It is usually treated with immunosuppressive agents, to which some patients fail to respond adequately. Material and Methods. Three patients with AA refractory to standard therapy were treated with intra-dermal injection of autologous platelet rich plasma (PRP) every four weeks. Results. All three patients showed remarkable improvement after multiple sessions of PRP treatment. Conclusion. Autologous PRP is safe and effective in treatment-resistant forms of AA demonstrated in many case reports; therefore it deserves further study with randomized, placebo-controlled trials.

Impacted tooth is frequently encountered in dental practice. But the impacted tooth associated with supernumerary tooth and dentigerous cyst in anterior region is very rare case. The present case reports the successful management of impacted right central incisor with multiple odontome and dentigerous cyst by surgical intervention and orthodontic extrusion. Close eruption technique was applied after enucleation of cyst and extraction of odontome. Thirty grams traction force was applied after bonding in the labial surface of impacted tooth. Subsequently fixed orthodontic technique was applied to get impacted central incisor into occlusion.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Chronic ulcers are characterized by being resistant to all forms of treatment. Recent improvement in compression techniques, notably use of multilayer bandaging has created a need for a re-look into it′s use. Materials and Methods: The authors present two case reports of successful management of chronic ulcers using compression through bandaging where all other forms of treatment had failed. This is followed by a review of literature based on previous articles as well as more recent ones found through Pubmed. Conclusion: It is suggested that, at least in India, compression through proper multilayer bandaging, should be a choice far higher in the treatment ladder than so previously. However, if the technique is improper, it may be harmful so the option is to be exercised with care and only by those who have received adequate training. The need of a team approach, and alongside, wider introduction of more and better training facilities for therapists and nurses is underlined.

Pregnancy in kyphoscoliotic woman is uncommon, with a reported incidence of 0.072%. It produces significant challenges for both anesthesiologist and obstetrician. Dealing with dual life, there is risk for both mother and fetus due to alterations in maternal physiology and change in spine anatomy. There are many case reports available with successful management both using spinal or general anesthesia. Here we present four case reports of successful management of such cases using general anesthesia or spinal anesthesia with palpatory and ultrasound guided method during a period of 6 months in Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital.

Atraumatic avulsion of the tibial attachment of patellar tendon in adults is a very rare injury with only few published case reports. Here we are sharing the successful management and follow-up of a similar case with a different suture material for repair of the tendon, the FiberWire. We believe that the management we are discussing allows for early return to activity with good functional outcome.

The interrelationship between pulpal and periodontal disease primarily occurs through the intimate anatomic and vascular connections between the pulp and the periodontium. The purpose of this case report is to present the treatment of two cases of mandibular first molars displaying endodontic-periodontal lesions with and without the use of regenerative bone techniques. The endodontic treatments were performed under an operating microscope in two appointments. Later, periodontal therapy was performed with a non-surgical approach in one case and with guided bone regeneration in the other. A 12-month radiographic and clinical follow-up showed periapical and periodontal healing in both cases. The present case report demonstrates that an interdisciplinary approach can help improve the prognosis and maintain natural dentition. Moreover, periodontal regenerative therapy can be performed to guide the wound healing towards the regeneration of lost periodontal structures.
