We provide keys, descriptions and illustrations for 16 species of Scoliidae Latreille, 1802 found in Hong Kong, of which nine are new records for the territory, one is new to China and one is new to science: Scolia pakshaoensis sp. nov. The status of one species (Megacampsomeris sp. 1) remains uncertain; it may represent an additional new species.

A New Species

A new species and eight new subspecies of Papilionoidea discovered in Vietnam between 2002 and 2020 are described and illustrated. The status of two taxa are revised. New taxa include Pieridae: Delias sanaca bidoupa Monastyrskii & Vu subspec. nov. and Talbotia naganum aurelia Monastyrskii & Vu subspec. nov.; Nymphalidae: Abrota ganga pulcheria Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Bassarona recta consonensis Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Pantoporia bieti aurantina Monastyrskii & To subspec. nov.; Ragadia latifasciata cristata Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Ragadia latifasciata crystallina Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Faunis indistincta luctus Monastyrskii & Vu subspec. nov. & Aemona gialaica Monastyrskii, K. Saito & Vu, spec. nov. The taxon infuscata Devyatkin & Monastyrskii, previously described as the subspecies Aemona tonkinensis infuscata, was elevated to the species level, while the taxon critias (Ragadia critias Riley & Godfrey) was reduced to a subspecies. Three Satyrinae species were recorded from Vietnam for the first time: Palaeonympha opalina Butler, 1871; Ypthima motschulskyi Bremer & Grey, 1853; and Ragadia latifasciata Leech, 1891.

The phytoseiid mites of the Cape Verde archipelago are scarcely known. We report the results of a survey conducted on the islands of Santiago and Santo Antão, where phytoseiids were collected from native, cultivated and invasive plants. Fourteen species were collected, four of which represent new records for the islands. One new species, Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) macrodactylus Ferragut sp. nov., is described and illustrated. We describe the unknown male of Amblyseius neolargoensis van der Merwe, provide a redescription of the male of Euseius fustis (Pritchard & Baker) and additional morphological information for all examined species.

Baliothrips sunae sp.n. is described from eastern China, and eight thripid species are newly recorded from China. One species is shared with Europe, three with Australia and four with southeast Asia. Chilothrips Hood is synonymized with Oxythrips Uzel, and Graminothrips Zhang & Tong is synonymized with Organothrips Hood.

The status of the Australian species of Agathis Salisb. is reviewed. Although only three species are involved, there has been a considerable amount of nomenclatural confusion. One new species is described from north Queensland, A. atropurpurea Hyland. A. palmerstonii F. Muell. is a synonym of A. robusta (C. Moore ex F. Muell.) F.M. Bail.

Two genera Dendrothrips Uzel and Pseudodendrothrips Schmutz are recorded from Saudi Arabia. A key is provided to eight members of Dendrothrips that have antennae with 9-segments and D. saudicus sp. n. is described in this group. P. aegyptiacus (Priesner) and P. stuardoi are newly reported from Saudi Arabia, with P. stuardoi rev. stat. from the leaves of Ficus carica being newly distinguished from P. mori (Niwa) that lives on the leaves of Morus alba. Some published records of P. mori from Mediterranean countries are possibly misidentifications of P. stuardoi.

Forty-one new species of the mostly neotropical genus Coniceromyia Borgmeier are described. The descriptions follow the methodology of recent works on the genus taxonomy and illustrate habitus, foremetatarsus, wing, hind femur, and hypopygium for each species. Unique features of some species are also illustrated, including several male features possibly related to sexual selection such as processes on different tarsomeres of the foreleg. New records for the known species are presented, as well as an identification key for the species of the genus and maps with their updated distribution. Coniceromyia brandaoi Ament & Amorim is synonymized with Coniceromyia plaumanni Borgmeier. Even though this work examined the Coniceromyia of the major collections of neotropical Phoridae, the high number of singletons and doubletons indicates that the real diversity of the genus may still be far from understood.

One new species, Diduga sphaeracephalus n. sp., is described from Thailand along with four newly recorded species, D. alternota Bucsek, 2014, D. bispinosa Bayarsaikhan & Bae, 2018, D. dubatolovi Bayarsaikhan & Bae, 2018 and D. allodubatolovi Bayarsaikhan, Li & Bae, 2020. We describe two new species of forest frogs in the genus Platymantis from the Isabel Island group, Solomon Islands. One new species is a medium-sized, terrestrial form that is morphologically most similar to P. weberi (a widespread Solomon Islands species). The other new species is an arboreal frog that is morphologically similar to Platymantis neckeri (known from Bougainville, Choiseul, and Isabel islands). Both new species possess unique advertisement calls that distinguish them from all sympatric congeners. Because acoustic characteristics function as the primary mate-recognition signals for anuran species, and are therefore an excellent indicator of the status of unique evolutionary lineages, we recognize each as new species. We diagnose both new species on the basis of their distinctive advertisement calls and in the case of the terrestrial form, by differences in body size, body proportions and skin texture. The diversity of ceratobatrachid frogs of the Solomon islands and Bougainville is underestimated and in need of a comprehensive taxonomic review coupled with a standardized survey of acoustic characters.

The aphid genus Allotrichosiphum is reviewed here. Allotrichosiphum cyclobalanopsidis sp. nov. from Cyclobalanopsis neglecta in Hong Kong, China is described. Keys to the species of Allotrichosiphum worldwide are provided. The type specimens studied are deposited in the Natural History Museum, London, U.K.
