Pharmaceutical corporations justify enormous prices and history-making profits by citing their research and development investments, but those investments are exaggerated and the companies waste billions on drug marketing and sales promotions. The current system also leads to unethical corporate behavior and compromises physician integrity.

However there are a lot of complex projects that are being carried out in partnerships between Peruvian academic institutions and major international conservation organizations. This paper lists some of the local and foreign experiences that can help to create a shift that will allow conservation as Research and Development (R&D) 2 ventures to connect public, private and academic partners through the Bruno Roselli Chair, a research program that will streamline and support a contemporary approach of the Peruvian built heritage.KEYWORDSResearch and Development, heritage information, public-private-academic partnership, earthen architecture.

This article examines the role of research and development within England's school system. From a range of literature past and present we argue that six features (three dimensions) should form the focus for action at the institutional, systemic and policy levels. Applying these stress tests to the current system, we suggest that an effective ecosystem of research-informed schools is as yet not being fully realized. We argue that the keys to improving this are to change the structures, cultures and incentives that bridge the research–practice divide, and to align accountability arrangements to allow schools to learn through enquiry.
