We prove a base point freeness result for linear systems of forms vanishing at general double points of the projective plane. For tensors we study the uniqueness problem for the representation of a tensor as a sum of terms corresponding to points and tangent vectors of the Segre variety associated with the format of the tensor. We give complete results for unions of one point and one tangent vector.

We determine all configurations of rational double points that occur on RDP del Pezzo surfaces of arbitrary degree and Picard rank over an algebraically closed field $k$ of arbitrary characteristic ${\rm char}(k)=p \geq 0$, generalizing classical work of Du Val to positive characteristic. Moreover, we give simplified equations for all RDP del Pezzo surfaces of degree $1$ containing non-taut rational double points.

AbstractWe introduce and study properties of the Terracini locus of projective varieties X, which is the locus of finite sets $$S \subset X$$ S ⊂ X such that 2S fails to impose independent conditions to a linear system L. Terracini loci are relevant in the study of interpolation problems over double points in special position, but they also enter naturally in the study of special loci contained in secant varieties to projective varieties. We find some criteria which exclude that a set S belongs to the Terracini locus. Furthermore, in the case where X is a Veronese variety, we bound the dimension of the Terracini locus and we determine examples in which the locus has codimension 1 in the symmetric product of X.

Abstract We prove the Anzis–Tohăneanu conjecture, that is, the Dirac–Motzkin conjecture for supersolvable line arrangements in the projective plane over an arbitrary field of characteristic zero. Moreover, we show that a divisionally free arrangements of lines contain at least one double point that can be regarded as the Sylvester–Gallai theorem for some free arrangements. This is a corollary of a general result that if you add a line to a free projective line arrangement, then that line has to contain at least one double point. Also, we prove some conjectures and one open problems related to supersolvable line arrangements and the number of double points.
