A family of inverse and regular triazolyl–pyridyl porphyrin–ruthenium(ii) conjugates display an energy transfer from porphyrin to the ruthenium bipyridyl moiety and a narrow HOMO/LUMO energy band gap is responsible for enhanced electronic coupling.
Ruthenium bipyridyl tethered mesoporous organosilica (Ru-POS) was developed as a versatile heterogeneous photoredox catalyst in several organic transformations.
