We define a testing function space DL2(Rn) consisting of a class of C∞ functions defined on Rn, n≥1 whose every derivtive is L2(Rn) integrable and equip it with a topology generated by a separating collection of seminorms {γk}|k|=0∞ on DL2(Rn), where |k|=0,1,2,… and γk(ϕ)=∥ϕ(k)∥2,ϕ∈DL2(Rn). We then extend the continuous wavelet transform to distributions in DL2′(Rn), n≥1 and derive the corresponding wavelet inversion formula interpreting convergence in the weak distributional sense. The kernel of our wavelet transform is defined by an element ψ(x) of DL2(Rn)∩DL1(Rn), n≥1 which, when integrated along each of the real axes X1,X2,…Xn vanishes, but none of its moments ∫Rnxmψ(x)dx is zero; here xm=x1m1x2m2⋯xnmn, dx=dx1dx2⋯dxn and m=(m1,m2,…mn) and each of m1,m2,…mn is ≥1. The set of such wavelets will be denoted by DM(Rn).

We study ordinary differential equations (ODEs) with vector fields given by general Schwartz distributions, and we show that if we perturb such an equation by adding an “infinitely regularizing” path, then it has a unique solution and it induces an infinitely smooth flow of diffeomorphisms. We also introduce a criterion under which the sample paths of a Gaussian process are infinitely regularizing, and we present two processes which satisfy our criterion. The results are based on the path-wise space–time regularity properties of local times, and solutions are constructed using the approach of Catellier–Gubinelli based on nonlinear Young integrals.

AbstractThe paper is a study of the (w, c) −pseudo almost periodicity in the setting of Sobolev-Schwartz distributions. We introduce the space of (w, c) −pseudo almost periodic distributions and give their principal properties. Some results about the existence of distributional (w, c) −pseudo almost periodic solutions of linear differential systems are proposed.

In this work, we adopt a new approach to the construction of a global theory of algebras of generalized functions on manifolds based on the concept of smoothing operators. This produces a generalization of previous theories in a form which is suitable for applications to differential geometry. The generalized Lie derivative is introduced and shown to extend the Lie derivative of Schwartz distributions. A new feature of this theory is the ability to define a covariant derivative of generalized scalar fields which extends the covariant derivative of distributions at the level of association. We end by sketching some applications of the theory. This work also lays the foundations for a nonlinear theory of distributional geometry that is developed in a subsequent paper that is based on Colombeau algebras of tensor distributions on manifolds.

This work aims to introduce and to study asymptotic almost automorphy in the context of Sobolev–Schwartz distributions. Applications to linear ordinary differential equation and neutral difference differential equations are also given.
