AbstractIn this paper, motivated by a $$\tau $$ τ -tilting version of the Brauer-Thrall Conjectures, we study general properties of band modules and their endomorphisms in the module category of a finite dimensional algebra. As an application we describe properties of torsion classes containing band modules. Furthermore, we show that a special biserial algebra is $$\tau $$ τ -tilting finite if and only if no band module is a brick. We also recover a criterion for the $$\tau $$ τ -tilting finiteness of Brauer graph algebras in terms of the Brauer graph.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to present a development to the hardware and software of a real-time tracking system that provides the position of the tracked vehicle accurately using fairly low-cost equipment and services. Vehicle tracking industries are expanding as businesses are interested to know their fleet vehicles positions minute by minute every day. Many systems were proposed recently that can provide such information. Design/methodology/approach – The system is implemented using GM862 cellular quad band module. A monitoring server and a graphical user interface on a Web site have also been implemented to view the current location of a vehicle on a specific map. Findings – The experiments were conducted and tested in different areas of the Kingdom Of Bahrain using Google maps, and results are discussed. Originality/value – The developed system has been compared to the available and imported tracking systems to some of the telematics companies in Bahrain, and the comparison has been discussed.

In view of the present fire electronic equipment protocol is not unified, this topic is based on the design of the TCP / IP protocol and embedded remote fire alarm module. This module uses the LPC1768 as the core chip to design the hardware circuit including input and output interface. TC35 is a GSM/GPRS wireless dual-band module used as mobile network interface. It uses C language to program. This module realizes remote two-way real-time data communication using of mobile communication module. It makes fire control system more intelligent and provides a simple and effective method to implements a network of city fire management.

A GPS radio frequency (RF) front-end based on discrete components is designed and implemented in this paper. Research on the structures of RF front-ends for GPS receivers, and an intermediate frequency (IF) digitalization front-end is expounded in details. Analyze the design considerations of filter bandwidth, sampling frequency, quantization bits, and automatic gain control, which would effect on the whole performance of RF front-end. Then, appropriate discrete components are selected, and a low IF RF front-end hardware platform with orthogonal structure is implemented. Test results indicate that the hardware platform combined with base-band module could effectively complete signals acquisition.
