LA LITERATURA INFANTIL EN EL UNIVERSO ARTÍSTICO DE JOSÉ MORENO VILLA

Se acaban de cumplir 75 años de la publicación, en 1945, de la antología Lo que sabía mi loro, libro en el que José Moreno Villa trata de ofrecer una amplia colección de los textos literarios que marcaron su infancia. Ese mismo año colabora en la edición de Navidad, villancicos, pastorelas, posadas, piñatas, publicado por Manuel Altolaguirre. En ambas obras destaca la mano de José Moreno Villa como poeta, antólogo e ilustrador. El presente estudio, además de examinar su faceta de ilustrador, trata de analizar con detenimiento las producciones incluidas en estos libros para evidenciar el deseo de Moreno Villa de ofrecer a los posibles lectores infantiles un panorama exhaustivo y profundo de la literatura española. Todas estas facetas revelan la conexión de la producción de Moreno Villa con el público infantil al que iban dirigidas estas dos obras.

LAUREEN MYRACLE'S INTERNET GIRLS AND CENSORSHIP: DIGITAL COMMUNICATION AS A CHALLENGE TO IDEOLOGICAL CONTROL THROUGH LANGUAGE AND AS A FIELD FOR FACING GENDER ROLES

Taking L. Myracle’s Internet Girls novel series as a starting point, this article tries to investigate and hopefully unveil the reasons behind the censorship imposed on the series by the “gatekeepers of canonicity and morality.” The article is a literature review and semi-content analysis. After a brief discussion about the term Young Adult literature and the subversion of the argumentut forws pard as a justification of the banning of the books, we examine the relationship between the epistolary novelistic form and the female voice. Finally, we focus on the most distinctive feature of the novels: the exclusive use of online chatting to advance the narrative. The role of digital communication in Y.A. literature and the youth’s idiomatic language on the net are also discussed. Our main argument is that the root causes triggering the adult censors’ distress and challenging their standards are not the controversial sexuality and attitudes of the characters. Rather, it is their language and writing in internet chatting. Digital communication is imbued with webspeak. It becomes a field of intergenerational tension, a vehicle of undermining pedagogical censorship. This type of communication evades the absolute control of some adults not savvy in webspeak. A number of these individuals -possibly a social group that is over-represented in the teaching and school librarian professions- perceive digital communication as a threat to traditional language codes. Their reaction to the Internet Girls concerns not only the content of the books but –first and foremost– the style and the code these books are written. What is more, the girls’ “digital” conversations allow for free self- expression. Prescribed boundaries of politically correct female attitude are transgressed leading to harsher adult public outcry.

DE ANCIANA AVARICIOSA A JOVEN EMPRENDEDORA: LA EVOLUCIÓN DEL PERSONAJE FEMENINO EN LAS REESCRITURAS INFANTILES DE LA LECHERA

Este trabajo analiza nueve reelaboraciones de literatura infantil y juvenil actual en lengua castellana del conocido Cuento de la lechera (motivo ATU1430). Comienza con un breve repaso histórico que sistematiza las principales transformaciones sufridas en el proceso de transmisión cultural y muestra de qué modo las reescrituras actuales subvierten las versiones clásicas de La Fontaine y Samaniego. Posteriormente se examinan los textos seleccionados, a partir de la relación que mantienen con el hipotexto de referencia y según la técnica de reescritura empleada. El objetivo es señalar los cambios e innovaciones introducidos en el relato, que afectan particularmente a la caracterización y funcionalidad del personaje femenino y valorar su repercusión en la recepción del lector infantil actual. Se comprobará cómo la anciana avariciosa de los apólogos medievales (o a la jovencita frívola de las versiones clásicas) se convierte en un personaje creativo y emprendedor. Además, los nuevos textos se despojan del moralismo característico de la fábula o subvierten losvalores sociales con los que se había asociado el relato tradicionalmente. El motivo, en suma, se reelabora y ofrece un concepto actualizado de la mujer y su papel social.

THE NEXT GREAT ADVENTURE: REPRESENTATIONS OF DEATH IN J. K. ROWLING’S HARRY POTTER SERIES

In line with previous studies about the importance of breaking with taboos surrounding death in children’s and YA literature, this article examines how this topic is treated in J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. Whereas other critical works have focused on Rowling’s excessive representations of violent deaths, I concentrate on the more benign portrayals of this reality that can also be found in her novels. I contend that the series ultimately renders and treats death as a complex issue. On one hand, Rowling embraces the pedagogy of death with her explicit didactic message that death is not evil per se and has to be accepted as a natural part of our existence, an idea which is central to the series. On the other hand, this study also looks into the ways in which deviates from the pedagogy of death, arguing that this does not necessarily detract from the series’ potential to promote a healthy view of this topic among readers. On the contrary, Rowling’s capacity to teach her audience lessons about death while, at the same time, acknowledging that these lessons may sometimes be at odds with how readers actually feel about the end of life makes for a complex, sensitive and humane rendering of this subject.

LIBROS DE DIVULGACIÓN PARA NIÑOS COMO MATERIAL TEXTUAL EN LAS CLASES DE ALEMÁN COMO LENGUA EXTRANJERA

A menudo se preguntan profesores y estudiantes de alemán como lengua extranjera qué lecturas o material textual pueden resultar útiles a la hora de mejorar la comprensión lectora, el vocabulario y el uso de diferentes estructuras gramaticales durante el proceso de aprendizaje. En ocasiones, recurrimos a lecturas adaptadas en forma de pequeñas novelas o a la redacción de nuestros propios textos, porque los libros de texto, en su mayoría basados en el enfoque comunicativo, ofrecen debido a su naturaleza comunicativa muy pocos textos, a menudo irrelevantes y poco atractivos para los estudiantes. El objetivo de este artículo reside en abrir nuevas líneas de investigación, considerando los libros de divulgación para niños un material textual idóneo o bien para ser incorporado como material complementario en las clases de alemán como lengua extranjera o bien para ser utilizado como material de autoaprendizaje. Se ha podido comprobar que esta clase de libros ofrecen características que se ajustan a las necesidades de diversos alumnos de alemán como lengua extranjera.

DECONSTRUYENDO IDENTIDADES DE GÉNERO: ANÁLISIS DE LOS ROLES NARRATIVOS DE LA BRUJA EN LA LITERATURA INFANTIL

Este estudio pretende, de una parte, analizar el rol de la figura literaria de la bruja en la narrativa infantil y, de otra, revelar su influencia específica en la construcción de las identidades de género y en la consolidación de los estereotipos femeninos hegemónicos. Con el fin de describir los patrones de representación verbo-visual transmitidos sobre los perfiles protagónicos de la figura narrativa de la bruja, y su contribución a la construcción/socialización diferencial de las identidades de género, se aplica un análisis de contenido cuantitativo-descriptivo de 60 unidades de registro textuales e iconográficas, procedentes de un corpus de cinco relatos literarios para Educación Infantil. De acuerdo con los resultados obtenidos, se verifica la contribución de esta figura históricoliteraria a la permanencia de algunas de las atribuciones sociales femeninas más tradicionales, y al fortalecimiento de la ausencia narrativa de identidades de género plurales basadas en la diversidad.
