The article discusses the issue of intellectualizing the process of learning a language through the prism of studying literary text, describes the multiplicity of approaches and directions in studying an artistic text in order to reveal its nature in the linguistic aspect, increase the motivational level and update the educational process.
The article covers the specifics of the material presentation and methods of monitoring acquired skills in the process of developing distance learning courses as well as methodology of preparation and production of educational material. Factors, which are to be considered during the preparation and production are also presented. The author describes general requirements for levels of knowledge, sections and course modules.
This article is focuses on the analysis of pun as one of the categories of wordplay its manifestation in one-liner jokes in English. The data of this study is all of one-line jokes containing puns which were collected on fiction material and online sources. Based on the analysis of various classifications, a new pun classification is defined as one of the types of word games.
