1H-NMR spectra of the following lignin model substances have been analyzed: cinnamaldehyde, 2-methoxycinnamaldehyde, 3-methoxycinnamaldehyde, 4-methoxycinnamaldehyde, 3,4-dimethoxycinnamaldehyde, 3-methoxy-4-hydroxycinnamaldehyde and 3,4,5-trimethoxycinnamaldehyde. From the NMR spectra analysis it follows that the studied compounds exist in solutions as trans isomers. Theoretical (PCILO) calculations in agreement with the NMR data have shown that the more stable conformer has trans orientation of C=O group with respect to the double bond of the conjugated side chain.

Aim. The comparison of saliva 1Н NMR spectra in patients with wedge-shaped lesions before and after treatment.Materials and methods. Saliva as a study material was taken from patients with wedge-shaped lesions before and after treatment. The treatment method was remineralizing therapy that included the use of the oral rinse containing zinchydroxyapatite. 1Н NMR spectroscopy was chosen as an investigation method.Results. In most cases it is noted that after treatment the content of propionic and butyric acids was on the rise in relation of acetic acid. Overall concentration of 1Н protons didn't change significantly.Conclusions. 1Н NMR spectra analysis shows organic acid distribution in oral liquid before and after treatment, which helps to evaluate its response.

Citrate esters were used as plasticizers in many kinds of plastic resins. Several compounds with new structure of bis-(tribytyl citrate acid) esters have been synthesized via an environmentally friendly way with relatively high yields. The structure of each compound has been verified by MS and NMR spectra analysis. The properties of these plasticizers have been evaluated by weight loss percentage in soybean oil. The various parameters have been calculated to correlate with their properties. The result showed that weight loss percentages are associated with steric parameters. It was also found that some of the new compounds showed better weight loss ability than traditional plasticizers.
