Medical devices assume a significant job in providing various healthcare services. The purpose of this article is tantamount to bring about the highlight key insights of the medical device industry and current innovative developments taking place, unique insights, and expectations for coming years from medical device industry professionals around the world. Global markets expect from the sturdiest growth, biggest regulatory challenges. The rising occurrence of acute diseases, regulatory requirements, and consistency in innovation is central point driving the medical device business sector development, later it is significant for the medical device industry to regularize and enhance the method to take into account the requirements of patients.

Abstract Background Country level comparative studies on the performance and experiences of medical device procurement systems, in terms of both quality and efficiency, particularly during COVID-19 are lacking. Objective To evaluate the impact on healthcare cost and efficiency of four national models of medical device procurement. Further, to propose procurement system "best practices" using the response to COVID-19 as a reference. Methods A review of qualitative data drawn from public and private sources was conducted, as well as various studies related to national procurement systems in four G20 countries, to (1) identify differences, strengths and weaknesses; (2) evaluate how each system responded to the COVID-19 crisis; and, (3) identify best practices for policy-makers. Results While some governments have centralized the procurement of medical devices, developing a national scheme for tendering and purchase, other countries have deployed a decentralized approach where regions or even individual hospitals are responsible for all or some aspects of procurement. This dichotomy has led to a variety of efficiency and quality of service outcomes, with models implementing national uniformity achieving greater cost-savings. Furthermore centralized systems of procurement performed better during times of health crisis. It remains unclear whether these short-term savings lead to long-term efficiencies achieved through improved patient outcomes as data is lacking. Conclusion The available data indicates that countries that have adopted a centralized approach to the procurement of medical devices tend to have an advantage during times of crisis, as well as in the normal provision of healthcare services.

Whether in our professional or private lives, we are all aware of the system wide efforts to provide quality healthcare services while containing the costs. Telemedicine as a method of service delivery has expanded as a result of changes in reimbursement and service delivery models. The growth and sustainability of telehealth within speech-language pathology and audiology, like any other service, depends on the ability to be reimbursed for services provided. Currently, reimbursement for services delivered via telehealth is variable and depends on numerous factors. An understanding of these factors and a willingness to advocate for increased reimbursement can bolster the success of practitioners interested in the telehealth as a service delivery method.

Clamping devices with constant force or pressure are desired in medical device, such as hemostatic forceps and the artificial sphincter, to prevent soft tissues from injures due to overloading. It is easily obtained by stretching an SMA wire. However, studies with SMA bending round bar have seldom been reported before. This paper studied constant force characteristic of C-shaped round bar with shape memory alloys. Optimization designs of the components were carried out with computational simulation. Numerical results show that the phenomenon of constant force strongly depends on contour curve shape and geometric dimensions of the C-shaped round bar of SMA component.
