In this paper, an approach to geocode tweets published in Spanish is proposed. The tweets are related to traffic events within an urban context of the Mexico City. They are generated by a particular phenomenon for knowing the behavior of the involved geographic entities. In order to disambiguate and verify the consistency of information, an application ontology was defined. Thus, the core goal is to identify location as well as spatial relationships between entities presented in the events, using semantic and spatial analysis of the collected dataset. In consequence, a visualization method for presenting the results was also proposed. The paper describes the methodology for enabling the discovery of spatial patterns within traffic tweets and provides useful information to make timely decisions and contribute in the context of Knowledge Society.

Here we presented the preliminary results of hawk kite usage against the feral pigeons in some grain processing factory. We studied the temporal and spatial patterns of repellent effect and bird behavior. We suggested the feral pigeons gradually increase the level of tolerance towards the hawk kite if no additional repellent measures were undertaken. Moreover, even initially the feral pigeons demonstrate higher tolerance towards the hawk kite compared to the Rooks or Hooded Crows.

This article suggests attention to the paideia of the soul as an educative corrective for preparing open distance learning students for living in the current technology-dependent world. This world is undergirded by a technology-rich knowledge society that privileges new informational epistemologies. In an attempt to suggest a spirituality of open distance learning that is based on the paideia (full-blown completeness) of the soul, use is made of the integrated interpretations of three relevant viewpoints. It is shown that spirituality in open distance learning is neither religion nor ethics; that it is essentially about the meaning in and of life, meaning-making and meaning-decoding, self-transcendence (especially as meaning-making), connection, engagement and a re-interrogation of all the major existentialist questions. It is a journey towards wholeness and compassion (as knowledge of love) of every student teacher.
