A CAD/ CAM system has been developed for turbine blade’s manufacturing based on the software of UG in accordance with a type of static blade of China Chang Jiang Energy Corp. (Group) in this paper. According to a few parameters input by users, the system automatically generate three-dimensional geometric model of the blade, and through its CAM module, it automatically generates the CNC track for four-axis CNC machining center. A management system has been developed by using UG / Open API, MFC, and database technology so as to improving the design efficiency in the UG.

In order to accelerate the efficiency of research and development for new products and in light of the current numerous CAD, CAM softwares and the practical situations of CNC machine tools, etc. in our Center, CAD/CAM/DNC integration & networked platform is established and the respective advantages of softwares are utilized so as to realize the research and development of complex curved surface mechanism parts. The method tactfully utilizes the advantages of current powerful popular softwares and, through their powerful cooperation and respective functions, completes the research and development of complex curved surface mechanism parts based on network CAD/CAM/DNC, significantly improving the efficiency of research and development for new products.

Reverse engineering technology is an important part of advanced manufacturing technology. The CAM module is one of the key modules of integrated reverse engineering CAD/CAM system, its research and development has the important theory significance and project application value for the successful implementation of integrated reverse engineering CAD/CAM system. This paper systematically analyzes the functional model and information integration model of CAM module, using the Pro/Toolkit tool in the Pro/NC environment to achieve CAM function of the technical scheme, and as the basis for the development of the integration in reverse engineering CAD/CAM system, has strong ability of automatic processing module of CAM. Research and development of practice show that the scheme proposed in this paper is more advanced, feasible and practical.
