Lytta zubovi sp. nov., a new species of Meloidae from Crimea (Ukraine) is described and figured. The species is dimorphic, with the female, known only from a photograph, brachyelytrous and probably apterous. It is tentatively placed in the genus Lytta Fabricius, 1775, waiting for a revision of the tribe Lyttini. According to the present concept of Lytta, the new species is similar to the Holarctic subgenus Poreospasta Horn, 1868, never recorded from Europe, even though it is strictly different, particularly in the head and pronotum shape, and the dimorphic condition of wings.

Examination of ongoing pathology in patient’s body is quite essential for a physician to calculate the estimation the dose of drug. But examination method mentioned in Ayurveda is incomplete without using the present concept of Aturaparijnana Hetu. With the help of Aturaparijnana Hetu the traditional methods of person understanding (the Dashavidha Pariksha) become more accurate and powerful. Aturaparijnaana Hetu gives standard of a person. In this way, examination method acquires the foundation; designed for grading. In short, person’s residual strength can be documented. These article is intended to highlight the research work through survey study that how can a group is identify by their respective Desha and their role in Dashavidha Pariksha. Dehabala and Doshabala are assessing by this methods.

The direct decompression limits for a group of divers over a range of pressure-time air exposures was determined using ultrasonic detection of venous gas emboli (VGE). In addition to dry chamber exposures, ranging from 233 ft for 7 min to 25 ft for 720 min, we exposed six divers to open ocean dives at 165 ft for 10 min. Findings demonstrated a strong individual propensity to form VGE, correlating with susceptibility to bends. No bends developed without the prior detection of precordial VGE. The present concept of no problems after any period of time at 30 fsw was not confirmed. Isopleths of equal percentage occurrence of VGE were computed between 10 and 60%. Open ocean exposures increased the percentage of VGE and bends, when compared to dry chamber exposures. Limiting tissue half times computed from the 20% VGE isopleth suggested that saturation exposures are controlled by a greater sensitivity of the short-half-time tissues than previously appreciated, rather than by additionally extended half times.

Representatives of all genera and subgenera of Haliplidae are examined regarding the shape of the air storage under the metacoxal plates. Three different main types can be distinguished with strong variation in the species of Haliplus. In general the results support the present concept of genera and subgenera, but a few exceptions are found. The subgenus Phalilus is raised to genus level. The genera Algophilus Zimmermann and Apteraliplus Chandler are reduced to subgenera of Haliplus Latreille. The synonymised genus Haliaplus Ádám is re-installed as a subgenus of Haliplus. Three new subgenera are introduced: Australiplus, Borealiplus and Nipponiplus. A cladistic analysis is carried out using 27 characters including those of the metacoxal air-storage space. A cladogram to subgenus level is presented.

The authors have formerly published the analytical model and finite element validation of a push-pull actuator made by winding a thin shape memory wire on a solid rubber cylinder. The cylinder provides elastic backup for the wire upon cooling down and transforms its circumferential contraction into a magnified axial elongation upon heating up. Building on that study, this paper accomplishes three tasks: (1) build prototype actuators and perform simple tests to validate the theory; (2) develop simple procedures for the optimal design of the actuator starting from high-level engineering specifications; (3) envision how the present concept could be improved by replacing the rubber block with a compliant lattice-like or shell-like scaffold with designed properties to further enhance the axial stroke.

Twenty-one species of marine enchytraeid oligochaetes within the genera Enchytraeus, Grania, Marionina, and Lumbricillus are confirmed as occurring on the Pacific Coast of Canada. Taxonomic reviews with redescriptions where necessary are provided for 48 species, bringing 13 into synonymy. A further three species were left as taxa inquirenda. Marionina is the least homogeneous of the genera, and further species revisions may change the present concept of the genus. Species habitat preference is largely intertidal, often with decomposing algae, but some subtidal species have been found. There appears to be a Pacific regional fauna.
