For the Cloud Computing Effectiveness Assessment Model (CCEAM) that was recently proposed, a set of operationally and objectively defined measures are presented. The model incorporating these measures is validated by case studies carried out in five companies from four different categories of involvement with cloud computing. It is shown in the context of the case studies that CCEAM is applicable for assessing cloud computing strengths and weaknesses of organizations.

Cloud computing technology is a relatively new concept of offering reliable and virtualized resources, software and hardware on demand to users. It presents a new technology to deliver computing resources as a service. It allows several benefits for example services on demand, provisioning, shared resources and pay per use and suffers from several challenges. In fact, security presents a major obstacle in cloud computing adoption. In this paper, the authors will deal with security problems in cloud computing systems and estimate security breaches using a quantitative security risk assessment model. Finally, the authors use this quantitative model to solve these problems in cloud environments.

The research objectives were: 1) to develop cyber resilient model, 2) to develop the cyber resilient capability maturity model and 3) to develop self-assessment model for cyber resilient capability of cloud computing services which are qualitative and applicative research. Referring to the cybersecurity concept from National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) from the in-depth interview, focusgroup discussion was developed with cybersecurity experts and data collection from cloud services providers. It was found that trend of cyber-attacks was violent with smarter method. The authors had synthesized the concept of cyber resilient capability maturity model for cloud computing services including developed application for cloud services providers to evaluate their organization in order to improve the better cybersecurity level in cloud computing services and the cyber resilient capability maturity model in the future.

Cloud computing technology is a relatively new concept of providing scalable and virtualized resources, software and hardware on demand to consumers. It presents a new technology to deliver computing resources as a service. It offers a variety of benefits like services on demand and provisioning and suffers from several weaknesses. In fact security presents a major obstacle in cloud computing adoption. In this chapter, we will deal with security problems in cloud computing systems and show how to solve these problems using a quantitative security risk assessment model named Multi-dimensional Mean Failure Cost (M2FC). In fact, we present first a deep analysis of security issues related to cloud computing environments and then propose a generic framework that analysis and evaluate cloud security problems and then propose appropriate countermeasures to solve these problems.

The recent emergence of cloud computing has drastically altered everyone's perception of infrastructure architectures, software delivery, and development models. Projecting as an evolutionary step, cloud computing encompasses elements from grid computing, utility computing, and autonomic computing into an innovative deployment architecture. Cloud computing systems offer a lot of advantages like pay per use and rapid service provisioned on demand, while it suffers for some concerns specially security. In fact, a number of unchartered risks and challenges have been introduced from this new environment. This chapter explores the security issues in cloud computing systems and shows how to solve these problems using a quantitative security risk assessment model.

In this paper, a Bayesian network-based assessment model used for evaluating the innovation of cloud computing industry is presented. Firstly, the innovation measurement model of cloud computing industrial clusters is designed. Then Bayesian network assessment and the self-learning method to the model are proposed. Finally, accompanying with empirical data, the most likely innovation status value of cloud computing industrial clusters and key variables influencing the innovation status value can be predicted. This model can provide the theory basis for researching the innovative development of cloud computing industries.
