With the development of informational construction technology, the shield tunnel three-dimensional visualization has been more and more used. This paper proposes a modeling method of discrete space curve based on coordinates of shield line design, then calculate and generate shield tunneling model. The model data is stored in the form of triangular network. This method has fast modeling speed and low request of storage space, and is relatively easy to imply. It can be combined with GIS in fast simulation to improve work efficiency.

Abstract Experiments aiming at the muck improvement for Chengdu’s subway shield tunneling in water-rich sandy cobble ground initially finds out the kinds and ratio of muck improver suitable for the this strata, and through the field application determines the reasonable ratio of muck improver for shield tunneling in sandy cobble ground, providing a reference to other muck improvement for shied tunneling in similar ground. And the earth pressure balanced shield is widely used in tunnel engineering, with its characteristics as wide adaptability, safe operation, fast driving speed, low environmental noise and low cost. Taking Chengdu Metro Line as the background, aiming at the difficulty faced by EPB shield tunneling in water-rich sandy cobble ground, and based on the explorations and researches of the predecessors and scholars, engineering and technical personnel, the present paper combines with engineering examples to make a systematic summary and research on key construction technology of EPB shield tunneling through sandy cobble ground from the aspects of EPB shield adaptability, , structure and transformation of cutter and helical unearthed wares, settlement control method, and muck improvement measures. It has certain reference value and guiding significance to the selection of shield machine and the reconstruction of shield machine in complex geological condition.

With the rapid development of urban construction, the shield construction technology has been greatly developed. Shield tunneling method generally adapts to relatively uniform soil, soft rock and sand rock strata, and the shield tunnel construction has been more mature for the homogeneous strata. However, for the soft and hard interbedded strata, how to solve the problems of breaking the hard rock, increasing the tunneling efficiency and reducing the construction costs, are difficult problems in the shield tunnel construction. In this paper, based on a great deal of theoretical analyses and engineering practices, the effective methods of improving the efficiency of tunneling, reducing cutter wearing and decreasing the construction costs in the process of the shield tunneling construction in hard rock and gravel layer are proposed.

Based on the background of Xi-Jiang cross-river shield tunneling construction of gas pipeline network project in Guangdong province, this paper expounded engineering measures and innovative technology of the shaft maintenance structures under the composite stratum conditions, which included trench construction for diaphragm wall, reinforcement cage craning and installation, concrete spouting and static blast excavation, to provide some reference for similar projects.

On Job Training (OJT) is best for skill development and attitude change. Implementation of OJT which focuses on the transition of students to working life, however with little attention given to the process of assessment in OJT. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate the OJT assessment problems among Construction Technology students in Malaysian Vocational College. The research design for this study uses a survey that was carried out qualitatively through semi-structured interviews among Construction Technology students, lecturers and experienced construction practitioners. From the data analysis, it has been identified that there is an inadequacy of OJT assessment rubric in assessing the skill and knowledge of the construction technology students. This has been contributed with the used of holistic rubric for the OJT assessment which has been designed to be use by every course in the Vocational College. The result also revealed that allocation of marks in the assessment rubric is not commensurate with some construct assessed and need to be reviewed. This study shows that an assessment rubric should emphasizes on specific knowledge and skills in assessing students’ competency during training program and in this case to produce competent site supervisor. In addition, a good assessment rubric should consider the tasks and marks thoroughly to avoid biasness among students. Therefore, it is suggested to carry out further study in investigating the validity and reliability of current industry’ OJT assessment rubric for the Construction Technology students.Key Words: On Job Training; Construction Technology; An assessment rubric; Competency; Validity and reliability.
