This study examines strategies for improving the work attitude and mental health of airlines’ “problem employees”. Based on a review of previous studies, five different handling methods for problem employees were derived: (1) duty assignment according to ability, (2) confidence beliefs, (3) managerial coaching, (4) human understanding, and (5) mentor system. The study hypothesized that these five approaches influence employees’ work attitudes, mental health, and job performance. To verify these hypotheses, empirical data were collected from 200 airline crew members. The analysis found that only three of the “five different handling methods of problem employees” positively influence job attitudes, mental health, and job performance: (1) duty assignment according to ability, (2) confidence beliefs, and (3) mentor system. In contrast, managerial coaching negatively impacted outcome variables. The study also found that the current handling approaches implemented in the industry have positive and negative outcomes on problem employees. Therefore, airline companies need to manage problem staff based on the findings of this study. Particularly, when conducting managerial coaching, supervisors should check employees’ work attitude change status. Research implications, limitations, and future research directions are discussed.

Despite extensive research on attitudes and a rapid growth of the video game market, there is currently no meta-analysis mapping the link between narrative video games and attitude change. Here, we present such meta-analysis. The findings suggest that narrative video games affect players’ attitudes towards the topics depicted in games. This effect was present in studies focused on changes in both implicit (g = 0.36, k = 18) and explicit attitudes (g = 0.24, k = 101), with longer intervention duration and game mechanics such as stereotyping and meaningful feedback resulting in larger implicit attitude change. Regarding the robustness of the underlying evidence, half of the included studies were judged to be at high risk of bias. On the other hand, the impact of publication bias in this literature was found to be negligible. Altogether, this meta-analysis provides evidence that video games shape how we think about events they represent.

Background and objective: For effective horticultural education, it is required to develop kits for practice. In this study, we developed a horticultural kit for germination that introduces storytelling, characterization, and assembly, and investigated the educational effects of using it to study its educational differentiation and usefulness.Methods: First, we developed a seed germination kit for learning. It consists of three components: the kit main frame for hydroponics, the activity sheet for storytelling, and the instruction manual. It is made into an acrylic assembly in consideration of the ease of delivery for contactless learning. Second, we developed two programs, each using a germination kit for horticultural education (experimental group) and a general germination kit program (control group). At this time, the class consists of pre-questionnaire, the 1st and 2nd classes, observation log writing (total six times for two weeks), the 3rd class, and post-questionnaire. The experimental group and control group were separately executed. Third, the application results were compared and analyzed before and after class. As a quantification questionnaire, the effects before and after class were compared through t-test with a questionnaire on program satisfaction and attitude change toward plants. The quantitative results were analyzed through observation activity sheets and effects before and after the class were analyzed through t-test with quantification and language coding.Results: The effect of horticulture education using the developed kit was estimated by a quantification questionnaire. Both the program satisfaction and the change in attitude toward plants showed high in the experimental group, and this difference was statistically significant (p < .05). As a result of analyzing the observation paper with a qualitative questionnaire, various cognitive and affective expressions appeared in the experimental group as well as the contents of the observation paper. The number of syllables and various qualitative expressions appeared, and these differences were also statistically significant (p < .05).Conclusion: Compared to general germination activities, it was found that the germination activities using storytelling-based horticultural kits would be effective for contactless classes in the post-COVID-19 era and in increasing the educational effect of horticultural activities.

Pedestrian Navigation System (PNS) is one of the research focuses of indoor positioning in GNSS-denied environments based on the MEMS Inertial Measurement Unit (MIMU). However, in the foot-mounted pedestrian navigation system with MIMU or mobile phone as the main carrier, it is difficult to make the sampling time of gyros and accelerometers completely synchronous. The gyro-accelerometer asynchronous time affects the positioning of PNS. To solve this problem, a new error model of gyro-accelerometer asynchronous time is built. The effect of gyro-accelerometer asynchronous time on pedestrian navigation is analyzed. A filtering model is designed to calibrate the gyro-accelerometer asynchronous time, and a zero-velocity detection method based on the rate of attitude change is proposed. The indoor experiment shows that the gyro-accelerometer asynchronous time is estimated effectively, and the positioning accuracy of PNS is improved by the proposed method after compensating for the errors caused by gyro-accelerometer asynchronous time.

This study examines moral development’s role in judgments of health messages. This research assesses which appeals and type of benefit advertised in health ads impact ad effectiveness and health intentions. Results indicate that messages advertising a third-person benefit of the behavior are more appealing than a first-person benefit and that moral development should be considered when designing health messages. The ads presenting a third-person benefit and an emotional appeal were more effective among those who rated higher in the maintaining norms schema of moral development and among those with higher moral development. This indicates that health messages targeting adolescents should emphasize the principles at play when encouraging behavior or attitude change and should highlight societal values in the behaviors.

Education is an effort to create quality human beings and shape human character itself. This is what makes humans cannot be separated from education and makes education a necessity for all time. Education itself has a system that consists of input, process and output. The output of education is to create quality human beings, this can be measured by good learning achievement. Learning achievement is the maximum benchmark that has been achieved by students after conducting lecture activities for a predetermined time including the value of good student attitudes. Classdojo is a free internet-based application that provides many features and facilitates its users to find out student activities or the development of student attitudes in real time. The background of the problem in this research is how is the implementation of the Classdojo application in calculating student behavior? How is the change in student attitudes in implementing the Classdojo application? The theoretical studies in this research are Learning and Learning Media Development, Classdojo-Based Learning Media Development, Educational Technology Concepts, Assessment Theory, Attitude Change Theory. While the Type of Research This type of research is a qualitative research by conducting case studies to several State Universities in North Sumatra, including the State Islamic University of North Sumatra, Padangsidimpuan State Islamic Institute and the University of North Sumatra. This research is one of the most effective ways to develop and even advance an application system for assessing student attitudes.The results of the research from the analysis above, Attitudes in general are feelings, thoughts, and tendencies of a person who are more or less permanent in recognizing certain aspects in their environment. The components of attitude are knowledge. feelings, and tendencies to act. The response in question can be in the form of actions or actions that can be observed and can be in the form of intentions or intentions to perform certain actions in relation to the object of attitude. The application of the clasdojo application to the assessment of student attitudes both cognitively, affectively and conatively is very beneficial and the changes experienced by students, especially in the application of positive attitudes.

Increasing frequency and intensity of food insecurity in Zimbabwe, amidst heavy investment in Disaster Risk Reduction efforts threaten the achievement of the Zero Hunger target by 2030. The need to interrogate assessment practice need not be overemphasized. An interpretive–constructivist paradigm guided this study, while desktop review, focus group discussions and individual interviews were the main data collection tools. A purposively selected sample, of 85participants from Bulilima, Gwanda, Mangwe, and Umzingwane districts was used. These districts share similar social and cultural characteristics and hazards. The sample consisted of District development coordinators (DDCs), Environmental Management Agency, Rural District Council (RDC) chief executive officers, councillors, traditional leaders (chiefs), NGO managers, and heads of schools, deemed to bring depth into the study. NVivo software was used in data analysis to establish order, structure, and meaning, to ensure coherence, consistency, and quality of research findings and deductions. The study found that the term, “assessment” was variedly understood across disciplines and levels of responsibility, due to the existence of parallel assessment regimes that fragment and weaken assessment practice. Hence, the need to make capacity-building, training and education and stakeholder participation a permanent feature in Zimbabwe. This will promote correct understanding and application of the terms, and increase the knowledge of DRR practice. Assessment practice challenges emanate from the manner in which stakeholders do assessments.  Hence, the need for attitude change and commitment to the pooling of all the resources towards the assessment practice, and adherence to standards and principles that govern assessment.

<p>Social media has dramatically revolutionised the way people communicate and interact in the 21st century. The benefits of these tools are manifested in the increasing uptake worldwide by individuals, groups and organisations for knowledge exchange and marketing purposes. The academic/university library is no exception to this. As librarians seek to understand the ever-changing information needs of their customers, they must consider alternative means of interaction which social media offers. However, despite the attractiveness of social media outlets, university libraries cannot yet claim to have understood fully how to utilise them for marketing purposes effectively. Although studies on social media have received extensive attention in academic literature, little research has been conducted in the specific area of social media engagement. With many librarians bemoaning the lack of engagement from users on social media owing to negative attitudes, it is relevant to explore factors that affect sustainable social media engagement. This is a perspective that has been underexplored, particularly through the application of a strong theoretical base anchored on persuasion and attitude change.   Underpinned by the theoretical foundations of the Elaboration Likelihood Model and the Strategic Social Media Marketing Framework, this study explores the factors that affect social media engagement of undergraduate student users with the university library. Employing a mixed-method approach, the study utilised semi-structured interviews, a questionnaire and content analysis to gather data from six university libraries in Nigeria that was used to examine the social media engagement phenomenon. The interview results revealed that participating libraries failed to plan the adoption and management of social media carefully. Evidently, among the participating libraries, only a few commenced with a defined purpose, which often is neither management-driven nor guided by policy. These purposes were focused on promoting library resources and services and getting traffic to the library website. Results of analysed social media data confirmed this, revealing that posts were made infrequently, lacked creativity, and generated a low engagement rate. The result of a multiple regression revealed that argument feature (post content, language, and type) is a significant influencer in the predictions of factors that motivate undergraduate students to engage with the library on social media, while an ANOVA test indicated that course offerings influence students’ attitude to the library and how they perceive the library on social media.   The implications of these results are discussed, informing the theoretical and practical contribution. A principal theoretical contribution is a framework titled Sustainable Library Social Media Marketing Management that explains high-level social media management in the library. The study provides a blueprint for practising librarians with insights on managerial factors and considerations for user engagement as well as ideas for the purposeful planning of social media marketing activities.</p>
