Supply chain is a complex system in which most of the activities are inter-related, and changes in one of these activities can affect the performance of the other processes. Thus, integrated management strategies in a supply chain can yield considerable advantages throughout the system as supply chain members and customers become more integrated. In this study, a memetic algorithm is proposed to solve the integrated production-distribution problem. The objective of the problem is to find optimal production quantity, customer delivery quantity, and schedule to minimize the total system cost, which is composed of production setup cost and variable production cost, inventory holding costs, and distribution cost. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is tested on the existing data sets. According to test results, the proposed algorithm is a very effective method to solve integrated production-distribution problems. To assess to benefits and applicability of the method on the real-life problems, a case study is conducted in a Turkish water manufacturing company.

In the dynamic production environment of supply chain, based on information sharing among enterprises of supply chain, this paper designs an expert system aided multi-agent intelligent ant colony algorithm system to solve the production scheduling optimization model. Where ant colony is constructed with multi-agent and the order decomposition structure and constraint are expressed by expert system. And then it builds a system using JESS and JADE to confirm this algorithm applied in a mass customization supply chain scheduling model

The aim of the doctoral thesis is to develop an approach to the multi-agent system development that ensures the improvement of supply chain management efficiency. The developed approach allows creating a multi-agent system that can be used for various supply chain participants, as it reviews main supply chain processes and tasks to be solved. Various inventory management methods were used in the developed multi-agent system: forecasting algorithms, ABC analysis, and inventory replenishment point determination. Production scheduling and rescheduling were also used in the multi-agent system to reduce the total production time.

As is known that, one of the challenges in ensuring the quality and safety of agricultural products in China is how to organize plenty of scattered small farmers and integrate them into the modern agricultural products supply chain system. In this paper, in order to promote the tight integration of agricultural products supply chain, based on multi-agent system, a computer simulation model of agricultural products supply chain is proposed. Through a series of simulation experiments, the evolution of the organizational structure of the agricultural products supply chain, its impact on the quality and safety of agricultural products under different government regulations are explored and discussed in detail. It follows from these simulation results that the more long-term-contract farmers and sellers, the more conducive to the improvement of the quality and safety of agricultural products, and the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are also provided.
