Polyoxymethylene dimethyl ethers were successfully synthesized from acetalation under the catalysis of novel polymeric acidic ionic liquids (PAILs). PAILs copolymerized by divinylbenzene with ILs displayed exceptional catalytic efficiencies.

A novel Bi4O5Br2 ultrathin nanosheets material with 8 nm thickness was prepared via a reactable ionic liquids-assisted solvothermal method accompanied with facile pH control for the first time. The variable energy band structure of Bi4O5Br2 was responsible for the enhanced photocatalytic activity.
