The Internet of Things (IoT) is expected to interconnect billions (around 50 by 2020) of heterogeneous sensor/actuator-equipped devices denoted as “Smart Objects” (SOs), characterized by constrained resources in terms of memory, processing, and communication reliability. Several IoT applications have real-time and low-latency requirements and must rely on architectures specifically designed to manage gigantic streams of information (in terms of number of data sources and transmission data rate). We refer to “Big Stream” as the paradigm which best fits the selected IoT scenario, in contrast to the traditional “Big Data” concept, which does not consider real-time constraints. Moreover, there are many security concerns related to IoT devices and to the Cloud. In this paper, we analyze security aspects in a novel Cloud architecture for Big Stream applications, which efficiently handles Big Stream data through a Graph-based platform and delivers processed data to consumers, with low latency. The authors detail each module defined in the system architecture, describing all refinements required to make the platform able to secure large data streams. An experimentation is also conducted in order to evaluate the performance of the proposed architecture when integrating security mechanisms.

<p>In the last few years,there has been big interest in adhoc wireless network as they have tremendous military and commercial potential[1].Traditionally to test various parameters in the MANET , the most popular approach is to use mobile phone and Laptops and use the popular WIFI based protocol . But in the recent years there is a huge attraction towards the Internet Of things and specifically wireless sensor network. In this paper we are going to test the MANET protocol using zigbee based XBee modules specifally to determine the Range and Throughput of the Xbee netowork using XCTU Software . The sensor network will be deployed in the car parking application to see the parameters in the real time and dynamically see the sustainability of the network .The network is being designed keeping in mind that the nodes are mobile and at the same time the network does not require a standard infrastructure.</p>

Design and development of systems for delivering real-time information to people with disabilities and elderly persons need to be based on defined user requirements. For this purpose, the user requirements have been defined in this paper according to the everyday needs of people who use traffic networks and move in closed spaces. The logical presentation of the functionality of the informing system operation and its subsystems includes all the information (data) important for designing a user information delivery system. The paper presents a conceptual architecture system for delivering user informing services related to the environment based on the Internet of Things concept. The aim of the user informing service is an increase in the level of mobility of persons with disabilities and the senior age groups of users. In order to check the operation of the proposed architecture, the informing system operation was monitored on Arduino Uno and Raspberry Pi platforms in laboratory conditions. A simulation confirmed the interdependence of individual data from different subsystems in order to provide real-time information to the system user. The proposed conceptual architecture can contribute to a more efficient approach to the modeling of assistive technologies (with the aim of informing the users) based on dew/fog/cloud technologies in the Internet of Things  environment.

Mountain torrent is one of major natural disasters for humans. With the development of the Internet of things, the instrumented terminals, through which the host PC could obtain the real-time water and rainfall information and could alert to a coming disaster, have been widely applied to mountain torrent warning system. In order to ensure the effectiveness of network alerting, the program in the terminals need to be updated for some specific situations, but large quantities of terminals are usually built in complex terrain and fragmented geographically, so that it is difficult and expensive to update or repair the programs. In this paper, a method of remote update, realized on the BAM-4300 hydrologic remote terminal to update the complex programs via GPRS modules, was highly reliable. Experiments show that this method is of safety and reliability, and cumbersome processes of onsite update and maintenance could be avoided.
