A non-cytotoxic Bi2S3/β-Bi2O3/ZnIn2S4 photocatalyst assembled by in situ reflux method exhibits dual Z-scheme mechanism with excellent visible light assisted photocatalytic activity for tetracycline degradation, Cr(vi) reduction, H2 generation and bacterial inactivation.

Herein, we have demonstrated the in situ synthesis of the orthorhombic Bi2S3 nanowires decorated with hexagonal CdS nanoparticles by facile solvothermal method. The heterostructures have been used as photocatalyst for solar hydrogen production.
