Several physical natures of charged brane-world black holes are investigated. Firstly, the timelike and null geodesics of the charged brane-world black holes are presented. We also analyze all the possible motions by plotting the effective potentials for various parameters for circular and radial geodesics. Secondly, we investigate the motion of test particles in the gravitational field of the charged brane-world black holes using the Hamilton–Jacobi formalism. We consider charged and uncharged test particles and examine their behavior in both static and nonstatic cases. Thirdly, the thermodynamics of the charged brane-world black holes are studied. Finally, it is shown that there is no phenomenon of superradiance for an incident massless scalar field for such a black hole.

A black string generalization of the Myers–Perry N-dimensional rotating black hole is considered in an (N + 1)-dimensional Randall–Sundrum brane world. The black string intercepts the (N - 1) brane in a N-dimensional rotating black hole. We examine the diverse cases arising for various non-zero rotation components and obtain the geodesic equations for these space–times. The causal structure and asymptotics of the resulting brane world geometries are analyzed.

We consider a static brane in the background of a topological black hole in arbitrary dimensions. For hyperbolic horizons, we find a solution only when the black hole mass assumes its minimum negative value. In this case, the tension of the brane vanishes, and the brane position coincides with the location of the horizon. For an elliptic horizon, we show that the massless mode of Randall–Sundrum is recovered in the limit of large black hole mass.

The late-time evolution of massive Dirac fields in the backgrounds of brane-world black holes is investigated. We find that the dumping exponent depends on both the multiple number of the wave mode and the mass of the Dirac fields, but almost does not depend on the parameter ϒ of the brane-world black holes. We also find that the decay rate of the asymptotic late-time tail is t-5/6. Our results show that the decay of massive Dirac hairs on brane-world black holes has the same behavior as that of the Schwarzschild black hole.
