This case report describes a rare and unusual lesion found in 27 year old female, which was diagnosed as pleomorphic adenoma of the minor salivary glands in the upper lip. The tumor was a circumscribed, large firm mass, about 5 cm in diameter, almost obstructing the nasal vestibule and characterized by slow growth. Complete excision was performed and the histopathological analysis showed pleomorphic adenoma. The tumor did not recur. A brief review of the relevant literature is also presented. Keywords: Pleomorphic adenoma; minor salivary gland tumors; nasal vestibule DOI: 10.3126/jcmsn.v6i1.3603 Journal of College of Medical Sciences-Nepal, 2010, Vol. 6, No. 1, 51-53

Cornu cutaneum is a relatively uncommon projectile, irregular, hyperkeratotic nodule that can be seen in places such as scalp, forehead, eyelids, ear, nose, lips, and upper extremities which are subjectable to sunlight. Treatment is surgery with radical margins. Excisional biopsy is enough for treatment of the lesion on head and face. However, there is only little literature about cornu cutaneum on the nasal vestibule. We present an 82-year-old male patient with a necrotic, irregular shaped lesion with pedicle on the left nasal vestibule excised and diagnosed as cornu cutaneum.

Angiomyolipoma is a benign, mesenchymal, hamartomatous lesion often described in the kidney and may be associated with tuberous sclerosis. Nasal angiomyolipoma is an extremely rare tumor with fewer than 20 cases reported in the literature. We report a case of angiomyolipoma arising in the right nasal vestibule in a 68-year-old male with mild, recurrent right-sided epistaxis, and nasal obstruction. With the exception of arterial hypertension, the patient did not have any comorbidities. Gross examination showed a well-circumscribed, lobulated mass. On the microscopic level, it was composed of mature smooth muscle cells, thick-walled blood vessels of varying sizes, and islands of mature adipose tissue. Angiomyolipoma should be considered as a differential diagnosis for unilateral nasal masses, especially those situated in the nasal vestibule.
