The Ombudsman Office at a large academic medical center created a standardized approach to manage and measure unsolicited patient complaints, including methods to identify longitudinal improvements, accounting for volume variances, as well as incident severity to prioritize response needs. Data on patient complaints and grievances are collected and categorized by type of issue, unit location, severity, and individual employee involved. In addition to granular data, results are collated into meaningful monthly leadership reports to identify opportunities for improvement. An overall benchmark for improvement is also applied based on the number of complaints and grievances received for every 1000 patient encounters. Results are utilized in conjunction with satisfaction survey results to drive patient experience strategies. By applying benchmarks to patient grievances, targets can be created based on historical performance. The utilization of grievance and complaint benchmarking helps prioritize resources to improve patient experiences.

Background: Many men express concerns about their penile size, with respect to its role in sexual satisfaction of their female partners. The evidence to the contrary exists in the Western literature. However, similar evidence is lacking in a conservative society like India. Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the perception of Indian women about the size of the penis of their male partners with respect to sexual satisfaction. Methodology: A questionnaire-based study was carried out using a 20-item questionnaire in a sample of 230 sexually active Indian women, who answered the questionnaire either using pen and paper or using social media platform such as WhatsApp. Both the univariate and multivariate regression analysis was done using GraphPad software (©2020 GraphPad Software, Inc, California, USA). A P value less than .05 was considered statistically significant. Results: The study was conducted from January 2015 to December 2020. As per the accrued opinion of the women who participated in the study, there was no statistically significant correlation between the size of the penis and the sexual satisfaction. Conclusion: There is hardly any literature on the perception of women from a conservative society like India about the size of the penis of their partners in relation to the sexual satisfaction. Hence, the data from this study, which is the first of its kind form the Indian subcontinent, can be the basis to allay fears of men expressing their concerns about the size of their penis in this part of the world.

Premature ejaculation (PE) is a common sexual dysfunction affecting20% to 30% of men worldwide. Definitions of PE vary, but itis typically characterized by short intravaginal ejaculatory latencytime (IELT) with concomitant sexual dissatisfaction and distress.PE may be lifelong or acquired, but its etiology remains unclear.Treatment of PE typically involves pharmacotherapy, particularlywhen lifelong. Although there are numerous reports on the offlabeluse of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) andother compounds, only 2 treatments have been evaluated in randomizedcontrolled phase 3 clinical trials: PSD502 and dapoxetine(SSRI). Both significantly improved IELT and patient-reportedoutcome domains of ejaculatory control, sexual satisfaction, anddistress as measured by the index of premature ejaculation (IPE),compared with placebo. They constitute the focus of this review.Evidence demonstrated that PSD502, dapoxetine and other SSRIsall significantly improve the symptoms of PE. Systemic use of SSRIspresents risks associated with the known pharmacology of thisclass. PSD502 allows for topical on-demand treatment appliedapplied immediately before intercourse, and is not associated withsystemic adverse events.
