Residual income (RI) valuation is a method of estimating firm value based on expected future accounting numbers. This study documents the necessity of using linear information models (LIMs) of the time series of accounting numbers in valuation. I find that recent studies that make ad hoc modifications to the LIMs contain internal inconsistencies and violate the no arbitrage assumption. I outline a method for modifying the LIMs while preserving internal consistency. I also find that when estimated as a time series, the LIMs of Ohlson (1995), and Feltham and Ohlson (1995) provide value estimates no better than book value alone. By comparing the implied price coefficients to coefficients from a price level regression, I find that the models imply inefficient weightings on the accounting numbers. Furthermore, the median conservatism parameter of Feltham and Ohlson (1995) is significantly negative, contrary to the model's prediction, for even the most conservative firms. To explain these failures, I estimate a LIM from a more carefully modeled accounting system that provides two parameters of conservatism (the income parameter and the book value parameter). However, this model also fails to capture the true stochastic relationship among accounting variables. More complex models tend to provide noisier estimates of firm value than more parsimonious models.

The fully frustrated ladder – a quasi-1D geometrically frustrated spin one half Heisenberg model – is non-integrable with local conserved quantities on rungs of the ladder, inducing the local fragmentation of the Hilbert space into sectors composed of singlets and triplets on rungs. We explore the far-from-equilibrium dynamics of this model through the entanglement entropy and out-of-time-ordered correlators (OTOC). The post-quench dynamics of the entanglement entropy is highly anomalous as it shows clear non-damped revivals that emerge from short connected chunks of triplets. We find that the maximum value of the entropy follows from a picture where coherences between different fragments co-exist with perfect thermalization within each fragment. This means that the eigenstate thermalization hypothesis holds within all sufficiently large Hilbert space fragments. The OTOC shows short distance oscillations arising from short coupled fragments, which become decoherent at longer distances, and a sub-ballistic spreading and long distance exponential decay stemming from an emergent length scale tied to fragmentation.

Esto significa que la decisión de entrada o salida al autoempleo de un agente está también determinada por el comportamiento de los otros agentes que enfrentan el mismo problema de decisión. En particular, la proximidad física es un componente significativo para entender cómo las interacciones sociales influyen en las actividades de autoempleo en la ciudad de México. Este trabajo propone un modelo computacional de interacción social para entender la dinámica de autoempleo así como una estrategia de implementación empírica del modelo.</p>

When there is an upsurge of stress in the workplace within employees and administrators, the organization will struggle. Negative information dynamics affect health and contribute to stress. Stress management capacity is the ability to manage stress and is vital in the prevention of a negative impact of stress. Stress management can be improved for leaders and organizations.
