Este artigo tem como objetivo contextualizar e narrar a história do encarte regional Planalto Paulista, produzido e publicado pelo jornal Gazeta Mercantil. Pensado para consolidar a marca do jornal durante seu período de expansão, o Planalto Paulista fez parte de um conjunto de outros encartes regionais lançados durante o final da década de 90 e fechados no início dos anos 2000. Para tanto, este trabalho parte de uma revisão bibliográfica sobre o jornalismo econômico brasileiro, sobre o jornal Gazeta Mercantil e, mais especificamente, sobre a criação do Planalto Paulista em 1998 e seu fechamento, em 2002. O conteúdo é complementado com entrevistas realizadas com jornalistas que trabalharam para o encarte na época.   PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Gazeta Mercantil; Planalto Paulista; jornalismo econômico brasileiro; Campinas; encartes regionais.     ABSTRACT This article intends to contextualize and tell the history of Planalto Paulista, the regional insert produced and published by former newspaper Gazeta Mercantil. Planalto Paulista was intended to consolidate the newspaper brand during its expansion period and was part of a series of other regional inserts launched during the late 1990s and closed in the early 2000s. For this purpose, this work is based on a literature review on brazilian economic journalism, on Gazeta Mercantil, and more specifically on the creation of Planalto Paulista in 1998 and its closure in 2002. The content is complemented by interviews with journalists who have worked for the project at the time.   KEYWORDS: Gazeta Mercantil; Planalto Paulista; brazilian economic journalism; Campinas; regional section.     RESUMEN En este artículo se pretende contextualizar y narrar la historia de la insercione regional Planalto Paulista, producido y publicado por el diario Gazeta Mercantil. Planeado para fortalecer la marca del periódico durante su período de expansión, el Planalto Paulista fue parte de un conjunto de otros insertos regionales lanzados a finales de los años 90 y que se cerró a principios de 2000. Por lo tanto, este trabajo parte de una revisión bibliográfica en el periodismo económico de Brasil en la Gazeta Mercantil, y más específicamente en la creación del Planalto Paulista en 1998 y su cierre en 2002. Within the article, information on the current state of clustering is systematized,  for which the data on the cluster formations functioning in the world are analyzed, on the basis of which seven world models of clusters are singled out, their main and characteristic features are outlined. The orientation of Ukrainian clusters is clarified, special features are revealed and their characteristics are given. It is proved that modern manifestations of digital economy significantly influence the process of clustering and cluster formation. The analysis of digitalization of Ukraine in the regional section is carried out, grouping of regions on digital development of regions is conducted. The influence of digitalization on the development of socio-economic relations is revealed and outlined. The main transformational changes of modern clustering in the conditions of digitalization are formulated, it is proved that its change led to the appearance of such cluster formations as clusters of digital economy, their concepts, essence, features and advantages are clarified.
