AbstractWe consider the structure of the lattice of (order and algebra) ideals of the band of regular kernel operators on $$L^p$$ L p -spaces. We show, in particular, that for any $$L^p(\mu )$$ L p ( μ ) space, with $$\mu $$ μ $$\sigma $$ σ -finite and $$1<p<\infty $$ 1 < p < ∞ , the norm-closure of the ideal of finite-rank operators on $$L^p(\mu )$$ L p ( μ ) , is the only non-trivial proper closed (order and algebra) ideal of this band. Key to our results in the $$L^p$$ L p setting is the fact that every regular kernel operator on an $$L^p(\mu )$$ L p ( μ ) space ($$\mu $$ μ and p as before) factors with regular factors through $$\ell _p$$ ℓ p . We show that a similar but weaker factorization property, where $$\ell _p$$ ℓ p is replaced by some reflexive purely atomic Banach lattice, characterizes the regular kernel operators from a reflexive Banach lattice with weak order unit to a KB-space with weak order unit.

In this paper, we consider a general symmetric diffusion semigroup Ttft≥0 on a topological space X with a positive σ-finite measure, given, for t>0, by an integral kernel operator: Ttf(x)≜∫X‍ρt(x,y)f(y)dy. As one of the contributions of our paper, we define a diffusion distance whose specification follows naturally from imposing a reasonable Lipschitz condition on diffused versions of arbitrary bounded functions. We next show that the mild assumption we make, that balls of positive radius have positive measure, is equivalent to a similar, and an even milder looking, geometric demand. In the main part of the paper, we establish that local convergence of Ttf to f is equivalent to local equicontinuity (in t) of the family Ttft≥0. As a corollary of our main result, we show that, for t0>0, Tt+t0f converges locally to Tt0f, as t converges to 0+. In the Appendix, we show that for very general metrics D on X, not necessarily arising from diffusion, ∫X‍ρt(x,y)D(x,y)dy→0  a.e., as t→0+. R. Coifman and W. Leeb have assumed a quantitative version of this convergence, uniformly in x, in their recent work introducing a family of multiscale diffusion distances and establishing quantitative results about the equivalence of a bounded function f being Lipschitz, and the rate of convergence of Ttf to f, as t→0+. We do not make such an assumption in the present work.

Let [Formula: see text] be a finite measure space and consider a Banach function space [Formula: see text]. Motivated by some previous papers and current applications, we provide a general framework for representing reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces as subsets of Köthe–Bochner (vector-valued) function spaces. We analyze operator-valued kernels [Formula: see text] that define integration maps [Formula: see text] between Köthe–Bochner spaces of Hilbert-valued functions [Formula: see text] We show a reduction procedure which allows to find a factorization of the corresponding kernel operator through weighted Bochner spaces [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] — where [Formula: see text] — under the assumption of [Formula: see text]-concavity of [Formula: see text] Equivalently, a new kernel obtained by multiplying [Formula: see text] by scalar functions can be given in such a way that the kernel operator is defined from [Formula: see text] to [Formula: see text] in a natural way. As an application, we prove a new version of Mercer Theorem for matrix-valued weighted kernels.

A stochastic integral representation in terms of generalized integral kernel operator is proved for a wide class of quantum martingales which includes regular martingales and the martingales determined by the second quantization of integral operators containing singular kernels.

The localized inflammation of the abdominal aorta region causes Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA). The width of the lumen enlarges its size 3 cm or more than half of its diameter, which is larger than the typical diameter. There is no symptom until it becomes ruptured, which may often results in death. In this paper, a hybrid level set technique is presented to detect and segment the image taken from MRI of abdominal aortic aneurysm region. In traditional level set technique re-initialization problems are high. This problem is completely eradicated in the Hybrid Level Set Fast Marching method (HLSFMM). Median filter diminishes the noise in the image efficiently when compared to standard SVM classifier which uses Gaussian RBF kernel operator as a diameter measure by incorporating spatial data. Finally HLSFMM is utilized to extract source boundary in pre segmentation stage. The precision and the orderliness of the proposed method are extracted for different noisy MRI AAA images. Compared this result with other methods, the proposed system is much proficient for images with noises and accurate segmentations results are attained.

Abstract In this paper, we introduce the concept of entropy kernel operator for compact dynamical systems of finite Kolmogorov entropy. It is a compact positive operator on a Hilbert space. Then we state the Kolmogorov entropy in terms of the eigenvalues of the entropy kernel operator.
