AbstractA. Avilés and C. Brech proved an intriguing result about the existence and uniqueness of certain injective Boolean algebras or Banach spaces. Their result refines the standard existence and uniqueness of saturated models. They express a wish to obtain a unified approach in the context of category theory. We provide this in the framework of weak factorisation systems. Our basic tool is the fat small object argument.

AbstractIn this paper we prove the existence and uniqueness of mild solutions for impulsive fractional integro-differential evolution equations with infinite delay in Banach spaces. We generalize the existence theorem for integer order differential equations to the fractional order case. The results obtained here improve and generalize many known results.

AbstractThis paper deals with some existence, uniqueness and Ulam–Hyers–Rassias stability results for a class of implicit fractional q-difference equations. Some applications are made of some fixed point theorems in Banach spaces for the existence and uniqueness of solutions, next we prove that our problem is generalized Ulam–Hyers–Rassias stable. Two illustrative examples are given in the last section.

The semi-local convergence analysis of a well defined and efficient two-step Chord-type method in Banach spaces is presented in this study. The recurrence relation technique is used under some weak assumptions. The pertinency of the assumed method is extended for nonlinear non-differentiable operators. The convergence theorem is also established to show the existence and uniqueness of the approximate solution. A numerical illustration is quoted to certify the theoretical part which shows that earlier studies fail if the function is non-differentiable.

Stochastic antiderivational equations on Banach spaces over local non-Archimedean fields are investigated. Theorems about existence and uniqueness of the solutions are proved under definite conditions. In particular, Wiener processes are considered in relation to the non-Archimedean analog of the Gaussian measure.

In this paper, by using the partial order method, the existence and uniqueness of a solution for systems of a class of abstract operator equations in Banach spaces are discussed. The result obtained in this paper improves and unifies many recent results. Two applications to the system of nonlinear differential equations and the systems of nonlinear differential equations in Banach spaces are given, and the unique solution and interactive sequences which converge the unique solution and the error estimation are obtained.

AbstractPalmer has shown that those hermitians in the weak-star operator closure of a commutative C*-algebra represented on a dual Banach space X that are known to commute with the initial C*-algebra form the real part of a weakly closed C*-algebra on X. Relying on a result of Murphy, it is shown in this paper that this last proviso may be dropped, and that the weak-star closure is even a W*-algebra.When the dual Banach space X is separable, one can prove a similar result for C*-equivalent algebras, via a ‘separable patch’ completion theorem for Boolean algebras of projections on such spaces.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the problems of the well-posedness for a system of mixed quasivariational-like inequalities in Banach spaces. First, we generalize the concept ofα-well-posedness to the system of mixed quasivariational-like inequalities, which includes symmetric quasi-equilibrium problems as a special case. Second, we establish some metric characterizations ofα-well-posedness for the system of mixed quasivariational-like inequalities. Under some suitable conditions, we prove that theα-well-posedness is equivalent to the existence and uniqueness of solution for the system of mixed quasivariational-like inequalities. The corresponding concept ofα-well-posedness in the generalized sense is also considered for the system of mixed quasivariational-like inequalities having more than one solution. The results presented in this paper generalize and improve some known results in the literature.
