Two new species of Idiocera (Idiocera) Dale, 1842 are described, viz. I. (I.) falcistylus sp. n. (Spain) and I. (I.) cretopunctata sp. n. (Greece: Crete), and their wings and male terminalia are illustrated. A key to the European species of the subgenus is appended.

An integrative taxonomic analysis of the European species of theAgrotisfatidicaspecies-group is presented with special reference to the European sister taxa ofA.fatidica(Hübner, 1824); in addition, a general overview of the entire species-group is given. The remarkable differences found in the barcodes of the Central and Western European populations ofA.fatidica(sensu lato) led us to recognise isolated species of theA.fatidicacomplex. Two new species,A.mayrorumsp. n.(Northern Italy and the French Alps) andA.mazelisp. n.(French Pyrenees) are described. The neotype ofA.fatidicais designated.Agrotisluehrivon Mentzer & Moberg, 1987 is treated as a subspecies ofA.fatidica(stat. n.).

AbstractThe European species of the subgenus Moerophora Foerster, 1869, of the genus Xorides Latreille, 1809 (= Xorides rufipes species-group, Wahl 1997) (Ichneumonidae: Xoridinae) are reviewed. A key to the species and notes on their distribution are provided. Seven species are recorded from Europe: X. (M.) austriacus (Clément), X. (M.) ephialtoides (Kriechbaumer), X. (M.) jakovlevi (Kokujev), X. (M.) rufipes (Gravenhorst), X. (M.) rusticus (Desvignes) and two new species, X. (M.) flavotibialis and X. (M.) ilignus, which are described. Macrosterotrichus bischoffi (Clément) is synonymized with Xylonomus rusticus Desvignes. Xorides (M.) rufipes is recorded as new to Croatia and Bosnia.

Abstract Describes and illustrates all the forms of the pelecypod Liogryphaea known from the lower Jurassic of the eastern Paris basin, France, including two new species and four new varieties. The phylogenetic relationships of the group are discussed and illustrated in a table.

AbstractExamination of 122 specimens ofXanthogrammaSchiner, 1861 (Diptera: Syrphidae) from varied localities in Europe (+Turkey) resulted in the description of two new species (X. aeginaeRicarte, Nedeljković, and Vujićnew speciesandX. pilosumNedeljković, Ricarte, and Vujićnew species), as well as new data on six other species. Most of the examined material originated from the Balkan Peninsula and Greek islands. New species concepts were supported by morphological and molecular evidence. Relationships among the eight studied species were analysed and discussed based on the data of nuclear (ITS2) and mitochondrial (COI) genes sequences. An identification key to the European species ofXanthogrammais provided. Lectotypes are designated forDoros decoratumZetterstedt, 1843,Lasiophthicus novusRondani, 1857,Syrphus laetusFabricius, 1794,Syrphus ornatusMeigen, 1822, andXanthogramma nobilitatumFrey, 1946.

Two species within the Delia cardui species group were known to have males with the abdominal sternite III bipartite or very deeply incised, viz., D. bipartita Suwa from Japan and China and D. polaris Griffiths from extreme northern and high-altitude sites in North America. Two new species with this extraordinary character are described from northern Europe: D. rimiventris sp. nov. from southern Norway (Vest-Agder; Oppland) and southern Finland (Regio aboensis; Karelia australis) and D. bipartitoides sp. nov. from northern Sweden (Norrbotten). Further records of the latter species from Mongolia and Russia (Yakutia) are given. A discussion and redefinition of the Delia cardui species group and a key to male Delia with a divided sternite III are given.

A little known tachinid genus, Metadrinomyia Shima, is revised based on four East Asian species including two new to science: M. flavifrons sp. nov. and M. xanthokolos sp. nov. The majority of the specimens used in this study were collected from low vegetation in the foothills of mountains in South Korea. The new species can be clearly distinguished from their congeners by their pruinosity, chaetotaxy and genitalic structures. A key, descriptions, photographs, and illustrations of the male genitalic structures are provided and the phylogenetic relationships among the species are investigated.
