The exclusive reaction 12C(p, ppN)10A of quasi-elastic knockout of the nucleon from the short-rangecorrelated nucleon pair <NN> in the 12C nucleus by proton with an energy of few GeV is considered in the plane-wave approximation. The two-nucleon spectroscopic factors and momentum distributions of the center of mass motion of NN-pairs are considered by analogy with theory of quasi-elastic knockout of fast deuteron clusters from nuclei (p, Nd) using the translationally-invariant shell model.

The rapidity distributions of [Formula: see text] mesons produced in proton-lead ([Formula: see text]-Pb) collisions at center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair [Formula: see text][Formula: see text]TeV are studied by using a multisource thermal model and compared with the experimental data of the LHCb and ALICE Collaborations. Correspondingly, the pseudorapidity distributions are accurately obtained from the parameters extracted from the rapidity distributions. At the same time, the transverse momentum distributions in the same experiments are described by the simplest Erlang distribution which is the folding result of two exponential distributions which are contributed by the target and projectile partons, respectively.

The behavior of a nucleon in nuclear medium is discussed in Chiral Color Dielectric Model. It is assumed that the nucleons in nuclear medium produces a background dielectric field and the quark and dielectric field equations are solved self consistantly in presence of the dielectric field. A nucleon in nuclear medium is then constructed by means of standard procedure followed in chiral bag models. The corrections due to center of mass motion, color magnetic interaction and meson interaction are included. The calculations show that the nucleon becomes bigger in the medium but its mass does not change much. It is found that beyond a certian density, bound solutions in which quarks are bound in self-generated dielectric field are not possible. Thus, the calculations indicate that there is a critical density beyond which the matter consists of deconfined quarks.
