The evaluation of the maximum and cumulative response is an important issue for the seismic design of new base-isolated buildings. This study predicts the maximum and cumulative response of a 14-story reinforced concrete base-isolated building using a set of pushover analyses. In the proposed pushover analysis method, the maximum and cumulative responses of the first and higher modes are evaluated from the nonlinear analysis of equivalent single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) models. Then, the maximum local responses are predicted by enveloping the two pushover analysis results by referring to the contribution of the first and higher modal responses, while the cumulative strain energies of the lead-rubber bearings and steel dampers are predicted from the cumulative response of the first mode. The results reveal that the responses predicted by the proposed set of pushover analyses have satisfactory accuracy.

In this paper, we calculate and analyze a tall building project of seismic isolation design. It is a frame-shear wall structure, which has twelve stories on the ground. And then, we use the time history analysis method to calculate the isolation structure. It is found that isolation equipment can extend the period of the structure, reduce the story drift in frequency earthquake. And it also can control the response of the structure. In rare earthquake, the story drift can meet the demand of unclasped; the displacement and force of the equipment can satisfy the demand of the code for seismic design of building.

The seismic vulnerability of highway continuous girder bridges is analyzed to provide theoretical basis for the study of multi-stage fortification and seismic design of such bridges. Based on the concept of performance seismic design, five performance levels of structures are determined, and the displacement ductility ratio of piers is taken as the performance quantitative index to calculate the damage limit values of bridges in different limit states. On this basis, IDA analysis method is used to calculate 20 subjects. Based on the reliability theory, logarithmic regression fitting analysis is carried out to obtain the seismic vulnerability curve. The theoretical vulnerability curve is indicated that the bridge has good comprehensive seismic performance. Under 0.3 g ground motion, the probability of minor damage, moderate damage and serious damage are 57.9%, 44.7% and 3.6% respectively. The comprehensive seismic performance of bridges and the probability of exceeding the damage status at all levels are reflected in the results, the guiding significance to analysis of the seismic performance of the entire traffic and the formulation of emergency rescue plans.
