The main gangue minerals in bauxite ore are kaolinite, illite and pyrophyllite. The bauxite reverse flotation aims to float them out. In this essay, a certain type of bauxite is taken into account to design and synthesize the N-Alkyl-1,3-diaminopropane from the perspectives of solid-philic group and nonpolar group by applying the kaolinite crystal model in Curis2 software. It also studies the function mechanism of this newly developed reagent in flotation by applying flotation solution chemical calculation, ζ-potential test and infrared spectrometry test.

Jamaica, known in the world for her rich deposits of bauxite ore, is a small Caribbean country with an area of 10991 square kilometers and a population of just over two million individuals. This beautifu11and, which was described by Columbus as "The fairest isle that eyes have beheld" has developed a remarkably diversified manufacturing sector starting from a modest industrial base. Jamaica's manufacturing industry enjoyed a respectable growth rate of about 6 percent per annum during the good old days of the euphoric '50s and '60s. However, those bright sunny days ''when to live was bliss" were followed by the chilling winter of much subdued progress. The rise and fall of growth have aroused considerable interest among economists and policy• makers. The book under review probes the causes of this behaviour by analysing key characteristics of Jamaican manufacturing sector and tracing its path of evolution.

Ten strains of silicate bacteria were screened from three bauxite samples in Jiangxi Province and Henan Province in China. The ten strains were determined as B. mucilaginosus according to the results of physiological and biochemical characteristics and desilicon ability. Bioleaching tests showed that the ten strains all can decompose bauxite ore and release silicon from bauxite, but had a large difference of desilicon ability among them.

The strain Jgj-1 was isolated from Gaoan bauxite ore. The relations of desilication of the strain Jgj-1 and the pH of solution, temperature, shaking speed, incubation time, particle size were investigated. The results shows the optimum conditions of bioleaching are as following: at 28°C, initial pH value is 7.2, particle size 0.056mm, 200rpm shaking speed, incubation 5-7 days.
