Harrya is described as a new genus of Boletaceae to accommodate Boletus chromapes, a pink-capped bolete with a finely scabrous stipe adorned with pink scabers, a chrome yellow base and a reddish-brown spore deposit. Phylogenetic analyses of large-subunit rDNA and translation elongation factor 1α confirmed Harrya as a unique generic lineage with two species, one of which is newly described (H. atriceps). Some Chinese taxa were recently placed in a separate genus, Zangia, supported by both morphology and molecular data. Multiple accessions from Queensland, Australia, support the synonymy of at least three species in a separate Australian clade in the new genus, Australopilus. The truffle-like Royoungia is also supported as a separate lineage in this clade of boletes. Even though it lacks stipe characters, it possesses the deep, bright yellow to orange pigments in the peridium. Additional collections from Zambia and Thailand represent independent lineages of uncertain phylogenetic placement in the Chromapes complex, but sampling is insufficient for formal description of new species. Specimens from Java referable to Tylopilus pernanus appear to be a sister group of the Harrya lineage.

Phylogenetic analysis of partial rDNA sequences suggests that Ophiostoma should remain the sole genus of the Ophiostomataceae, and this should be the sole family within the Ophiostomatales, whereas Ceratocystis s.s. would be best disposed within the Microascales. Although morphological criteria suggest that the genus Ophiostoma is heterogeneous, analysis of partial small subunit rDNA sequence data shows that Ophiostoma (excluding O. roraimense) represents a monophyletic taxon. Analysis of a partial large subunit rDNA data set, which included sequences from 55 species assignable to Ophiostoma, failed to support the strict subdivision of the genus based on either ascospore characters or the nature of the anamorph. AbstractThe present paper describes the taxonomy of two new monogeneans, namely, Thaparocleidus longiphallus sp. n. and T. siloniansis sp. n., based on morphological, morphometric and molecular biological analysis, collected from the fish Wallago attu (Bloch & Schn.) and Silonia silondia (Ham.), respectively, at Meerut, UP, India. Genetic characterization of the two new species is based on sequence analyses of the rDNA 28S gene using neighbour-joining and maximum-parsimony techniques. These methods are congruent in depicting T. longiphallus sp. n. and T. siloniansis sp. n. as closely related species, but distinct from each other and forming a subclade with other species of the genus Thaparocleidus Jain, 1952. Secondary-structure models of the large subunit rDNA of the two species were also predicted using a combined comparative and thermodynamic approach. Molecular morphometric and phylogenetic relationships of the isolates of the Thaparocleidus species are discussed in detail.

Antrodia uzbekistanica sp. nov. is described and illustrated from juniper trees in Uzbekistan based on morphological characters and molecular evidence. It is characterized by producing annual, resupinate basidiome with large pores (1–2 per mm), a dimitic hyphal structure with clamp connections on generative hyphae, hyaline, thin-walled and cylindric basidiospores (6.5–8 × 2.7–3 µm), the presence of thick-walled and cyanophilous chlamydospores, and by causing a typical brown rot of Juniperus seravschanica in arid and semi-arid regions of Uzbekistan. The new species resembles Antrodia sinuosa macroscopically, but this species differs by having smaller basidiospores (4–6 × 1–2 µm), lacking of chlamydospores, and growing on wood of Pinaceae species. In nuclear large subunit rDNA (nLSU) and internal transcribed spacer (ITS) based phylogenies, the new species formed a distinct lineage in the Antrodia clade, and it is closely related to A. juniperina, which differs by having perennial, effused-reflexed basidiome with nodulose or round edged pilei, daedaleoid to labyrinthine pores, and larger and narrowly ellipsoid basidiospores (6.5–9 × 2.5–3.5 µm).

Phellinus vietnamensis sp. nov. is described from Vietnam based on morphological characters and molecular data. Morphologically, it is characterized by perennial, pileate basidiomata, a dimitic hyphal system, hooked hymenial setae, and colorless, broadly subglobose to ovoid, thick-walled basidiospores 5.5–6 × 4.8–5.2 μm. Phylogenetically, the status of Phellinus vietnamensis is strongly supported based on sequences of the nuclear internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions, the translation elongation factor 1-α gene (EF1-α) nuclear large subunit rDNA (nrLSU) and the second largest subunits of RNA polymerase II (RPB2).
