Composite repair systems of buried pipeline will be affected by moisture and other factors due to anti-corrosion and construction problems. These environmental factors will reduce the service life of the composite system. In this paper, the performance of composite and interface between composite and steel under the action of water were studied. It was found that the formation of micro-cracks on the surface of composite materials and the hydrolysis of epoxy resin were the important reasons for the Performance degradation. Moreover, the aging properties of composite materials and their interfaces under water immersion were analyzed by residual strength theory, and the life prediction equation of composite materials and interfaces were obtained, which can be useful to the field application of composite repair systems.

In this paper the effect of Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) on aging properties of asphalts was studied. The thin film oven test TFOT tests and ultraviolet (UV) aging process were used to simulate short-term and long-term aging of asphalts, respectively. After aging, the physical properties and dynamic shear rheological behaviors of LDHs modified asphalts were investigated. The viscosity of LDHs modified asphalts was measured by Brookfield viscometer before and after UV aging. After UV aging, with an increase of LDHs, softening point and viscosity value of modified asphalts decreased, while both of ductility and penetration increased, compared to base asphalts. Temperature sweep tests showed that the complex modulus of LDHs modified asphalts was lower than that of base asphalt, while phase angle was higher. The results showed that LDHs improved the UV aging resistance of the asphalt, and it could prevent asphalt from UV aging.

Layered silicates, such as serpentine and vermiculite, have properties that make it possible to use materials based on them as components of environmental technologies. The possibility of soil remediation in industrially contaminated area, formed due to the long-term exposure to emissions from copper-nickel production (Monchegorsk, Murmansk region), was studied. Two materials were used as ameliorants in our study: expanded vermiculite and granular serpentine sorbent, a waste after using the purification technology of highly concentrated solutions from metals. These materials have a high sorption activity to several metals, a high specific surface area, the ability to retain moisture, and are available in quantities sufficient to work on the remediation of large areas. A study of the physicochemical properties of industrially polluted soil and ameliorants, direct phytotoxicity testing of podzol and its mixtures with expanded vermiculite and the serpentine sorbent (test plants - common oat Avna satva L. and red clover Trifolium pratnse L.) were carried out. The study results showed that the proposed materials were effective additives for increasing the pH of acidic soil, sorption and precipitation of Al and potentially toxic metals - Cu, Ni, Pb, Fe, and improving the soil hydrophysical and agrochemical characteristics. A positive response of test plants to the introduction of ameliorants into industrially contaminated soil was noted.
