The trend of increasing demand creates a gap between generation and load in the field of electrical power systems. This is one of the significant problems for the science, where it require to add new generating units or use of novel automation technology for the better utilization of the existing generating units. The automation technology highly recommends the use of speedy and effective algorithms in optimal parameter adjustment for the system components. So newly developed nature inspired Bat Algorithm (BA) applied to discover the control parameters. In this scenario, this paper considers the minimization of real power generation cost with emission as an objective. Further, to improve the power system performance and reduction in the emission, two of the thermal plants were replaced with wind power plants. In addition, to boost the voltage profile, Static VAR Compensator (SVC) has been integrated. The proposed case study, i.e., considering wind plant and SVC with BA, is applied on the IEEE30 bus system. Due to the incorporation of wind plants into the system, the emission output is reduced, and with the application of SVC voltage profile improved.

Electrical overheating and fire are multiple faults in power system, optical fiber temperature measurement technology is better than the traditional temperature measurement device. It can test electrical system changes in temperature more effective and reliable, thus effectively contain similar accidents. This paper expounds the optical fiber temperature monitoring system warning the working principle, system constitution and its characteristics, discusses the practical application of optical fiber temperature warning monitoring system in power system.

This paper proposes a general overview of distribution network automation technology. With the continuous development of society and economy, the distribution network automation has become the trend and developing direction of electric power system. As the end part of the electric power system, the distribution network is directly connected to the consumers and plays a vital role in improving the quality and reliability of power supply. In order to provide reference for improving the reliability of distribution network and to speed up the development of distribution network automation, this paper analyses the system structure, development status and trend of distribution network automation technology.

Electric energy, as an important material basis for the survival and development of human society, is closely related to the national economy and people's livelihood and strategic competition. Throughout China's power system, if we want to fundamentally guarantee the sustained growth of social economy, we need to ensure the quality and safety of power supply in the whole system. In recent years, with the continuous enrichment of the types and form of electrical products, the demand for power resources in social production and life expanded gradually, to a certain extent, it stimulated the application of all kinds of electrical appliances in electronic technology. Especially, the electrical engineering and its automation technology are widely used in the construction of various projects. Through their own standardization and refinement, the electric power system has greatly promoted the progress and development of the power system in the aspects of operation reliability and stability.[1] This paper focuses on the electrical engineering and its automation technology, and analyzes the advantages of its application in the power system, and looks forward to the future development trend of the technology in the power system from the perspective of long-term interests.
