Abstract Aiming at a series of issues on traditional boost converter which commonly used in photovoltaic maximum power point tracking (MPPT) devices, such as the limited output voltage, the low boost efficiency, the excessive heat generating, this paper proposed a novel z-source converter. Compared with traditional boost converter, several researches have done among topology structure, operational principle, boost factor. Based on the theoretic analysis, this paper given two schemes of photovoltaic MPPT system which using boost converter and z-source converter, the models of them are established based on Matlab. The simulation results indicate that the duty-ratio of photovoltaic MPPT system based on z-source converter is smaller, the stability of MPPT is better. The novel z-source converter can fundamentally solve the issues caused by traditional boost converter in photovoltaic MPPT devices, and it has incomparable advantages than traditional boost converter in the field of photovoltaic power generation.

A derivation calculation methods for the maximum power point tracking is proposed in this paper. This method is the direct calculation method for the maximum power point tracking, through the calculation of the derivative value of the power to voltage, adjust the change values of occupies emptiescompared, which is used to deduce the voltage and current value, judge whether the derivative of the power to the voltage is zero, if it is ture, the maximum power point is got. Hardware is used the method to regulate the duty ratio of PWM in DC/DC boost circuit ,though once sampling, it can calculate the value of voltage and the duty ratio at maximum power point. The prototype experiments using DSP2812 chip verify that the inverter can better realize the most power tracing, high accuracy, and the system has the high stability.

Solar energy is a potential energy source in India. A photovoltaic is a efficient way to cure the energy in a huge amount and keep to gather that kind of energy for future, and the PV must have good efficiency. The maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is a process that tracks one maximum power point from array input, in which the ratio varies between the voltage and current delivered to get the most power it can. Several algorithms have been developed for extracting maximum power. To increase its efficiency many MPPT techniques are used. Incremental conductance is one of the important techniques in this system and because of its higher steady-state accuracy and environmental adaptability it is a widely implemented tracked control strategy. This research was aimed to explore the performance of a maximum power point tracking system that implements the Incremental Conductance (IC) method. The IC algorithm was designed to control the duty cycle of the Buck-Boost converter and to ensure the MPPT work at its maximum efficiency. From the simulation, the IC method shows better performance and also has a lower oscillation.

This paper presents the proposed model and simulation of a DC to DC converter with maximum power point tracking (MPPT) using fuzzy logic controller (FLC) for a standalone Photovoltaic (PV) System. This research will focus on the developing high performance DC to DC converter with fuzzy logic controller based to extract the maximum power that generated by the PV panel. The system composed of the PV array and DC-DC boost converter with MPPT system. The maximum power point tracking control is based on adaptive fuzzy logic to control ON/OFF time of IGBT switch of DC-DC boost converter. The proposed DC to DC converter is designed by using the Multisim software while the controller programme will be carried out by using the Matlab Simulink software. Pulse width modulation will be generated by the controller to trigger the IGBT gate. The performance of the proposed model is evaluated by the simulation and the result show that our proposed converter can convert more power from generated voltage. By using the fuzzy logic method to track the maximum power of the PV array, it is faster and the voltage is stable.
