Abstract There are many factors affecting insulator leakage current of transmission line, resulting in low accuracy of leakage current monitoring. This paper designs a monitoring method for insulator leakage current of transmission line under typical environmental conditions. The influence of different factors on the accuracy of leakage current monitoring is analyzed. Based on the fuzzy mathematics theory, the insulator operating characteristic quantity is analyzed, and the uncertain factors in the insulator operating characteristic quantity are calculated, so as to realize the insulator leakage current monitoring of transmission line under typical environmental conditions. The example analysis shows that the leakage current monitoring accuracy of the method studied in this paper is high in the case of no arc, local arc, adjacent flashover, pollution and saturated environment, which proves the effectiveness of the method studied.

Variability in the host-reaction of barley to infection by Drechslera teres was examined in the parents and progeny of selected crosses under different environmental conditions of testing. The Ethiopian variety C.I. 5791 exhibits a consistently high level of resistance under a range of environmental conditions, which is in contrast to the Manchurian variety C.I. 2330. The sensitivity of the genes for resistance possessed by these varieties to environmental modifications is considered to depend upon their respective genetic backgrounds. Furthermore, variability of host reaction in the progeny of these resistant varieties was shown to be influenced by the genetic background of the susceptible parent used. The implications of these findings in the conduct and interpretation of genetic studies and in backcross breeding programs is discussed.

Assessment of the structure durability of concrete bridge in service is crucial for determining whether their service performance is meeting the design requirements or not. In this paper we classify the whole structure of bridge into two levels, i.e.bridge structure and bridge components. A two-level-multi-index model for evaluating the durability of concrete bridges in service is established based on the dependent functions of various factors, in which the dependent functions are chosen in accordance with the difference of various factors affecting the deterioration of durability of components. In this model, the durability of the bridge is divided into five different fuzzy levels: intact, disrepaired, damaged, severely damaged, and dangerous. Finally, based on fuzzy mathematics theory, the durability level of a bridge in practice is evaluated by using the maximum subordination principle.

Grease dispensing unit is a well invented tool for greasing application which preserves health of operator working and ensures optimal quantity. There are fluctuations in the process of grease dispensing which is dependent on process parameters which make the grease dispensing. The properties of grease vary which depend on environmental conditions. In this paper the modeling of grease dispensing process using artificial intelligence method, fuzzy logic to optimize the flow of grease by considering the factors affecting the flow of grease and usage of automated system for grease dispensing process. The work involves usage of LabVIEW for modeling of fuzzy logic network Based on the results obtained a detailed discussions were made on how to implement the fuzzy logic system for optimization of flow of grease for the existing process. Further, the work also details the future scope of work that can be carried out.

This study covers the freight vehicle, which clears the custom clearance process for Kathmandu and transports the same goods to Kathmandu from Birgunj. In this study average travel time for freight vehicles from Birgunj to Nagdhunga has been studied, along with the factors affecting the travel time from Birgunj to Nagdhunga. License plate monitoring method of the freight vehicles was done to find the average travel time and a questionnaire survey was done to identify the factors affecting travel time of the freight vehicle. The travel time from Birgunj to Nagdhunga is different for different types of, vehicle and good. The fastest average travel time is of fixed container of 40 feet size with 23.2 hours and longest average time is for fixed container of 20 feet size with 28.95 hours. The average travel time for non-degradable goods is 26.5 hours and for degradable goods is 22.38 hours. Major factors affecting the travel time are traffic congestion along the route, bad road condition along the route and hilly road with sharp bends, turns and grade.

Dismount skin detection from an aerial platform has posed challenges compared to ground-based platforms. A small, area scanning multispectral imager was constructed and tested on a Small Unmanned Aerial System (SUAS). Computer vision registration, stereo camera calibration, and geolocation from autopilot telemetry were utilized to design a dismount detection platform. The test expedient prototype was 2kg and exhibited skin detection performance similar to a larger line scan hyperspectral imager (HSI). Outdoor tests with a line scan HSI and the prototype resulted in an average 5.112% difference in Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) Area Under Curve (AUC). This research indicated that SUAS-based Spectral Imagers are capable tools in dismount detection protocols.
