The tradition elevator risk assessment model depends on the expert experience, which causes that the assessment process takes a long time. To deal with this problem, this paper proposes a new risk assessment model which is based on fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (F-AHP) and artificial neural network (ANN). This model is applied to the risk-assessment of elevators. The results show that the assessment time is shorter and the accuracy is not lower, in comparison with the traditional model.

Abstract Casing corrosion during CO2 injection or storage results in significant economic loss and increased production risks. Therefore, in this paper, a corroded casing risk assessment model based on analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation is established to identify potential risks in time. First, the corrosion rate and residual strength characteristics are analyzed through corrosion tests and numerical simulations, respectively, to determine the risk factors that may lead to an accident. Then, an index system for corroded casing risk evaluation is established based on six important factors: temperature, CO2 partial pressure, flow velocity, corrosion radius, corrosion depth and wellhead pressure. Subsequently, the index weights are calculated via the analytic hierarchy process. Finally, the risk level of corroded casing is obtained via the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. The corroded casing risk assessment model has been verified by a case well, which shows that the model is valuable and feasible. It provides an effective decision-making method for the risk evaluation of corroded casing in CO2 injection well, which is conductive to improve the wellbore operation efficiency.

Intellectual Capital (IC) is becoming more widely understood by the academic and business communities, especially its important role in value creation of an organization. However, few people are aware that IC, if not managed properly, may also pose threats, sometime serious, to an organization. Knowledge leakage from an organization, for example, may come about when an experienced employee leaves for another job. Knowledge leakage is pervasive throughout an organization but is seldom noticed until the consequence is felt. This intellectual capital risk has to be systematically and effectively identified, assessed and controlled in the whole value chain of an organization. An AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) based multi-dimensional decision making and assessment model is developed to determine knowledge leakage risk in an organization.

The exploitation of wind energy for generating power is taking a major role in the electricity consumption globally. Proper utilization of wind resource could maximize its capacity factor and minimize electricity costs. This article will provide a tool for minimizing wind energy project risks for further investment to consider and choosing the best location in Jordan. For this process, the following risk factors were first identified: strategic management errors, transport, construction, operation and maintenance, marketing and policy risks. Then, using analytic hierarchy process, a complete risk assessment model was built and applied to two alternatives, Ras Moneef and Al-Fujaij. The results showed Al-Fujaij as a better potential location with relative importance to the factors compared with Ras Moneef. Among these risk factors, strategic and business risk have the highest impact, which can be mitigated by performing effective management, accurate contracting, and conducting emergency plans. It is believed that such results could benefit the project stakeholders to be aware of the risk items to be invested in while considering the project funding limits. The proposed framework also enables decision makers to create a reasonable fund and set achievable objectives for the project.
