Abstract The contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment from the fermion triangle loop diagrams connected to the muon line by a photon and a $Z$ boson is re-analyzed in both the unitary gauge and the ’t Hooft–Feynman gauge. With use of the anomalous axial-vector Ward identity, it is shown that the calculation in the unitary gauge exactly coincides with the one in the ’t Hooft–Feynman gauge. The part which arises from the ordinary axial-vector Ward identity corresponds to the contribution of the neutral Goldstone boson. For the top-quark contribution, the one-parameter integral form is obtained up to the order of $m_\mu^2/m_Z^2$. The results are compared with those obtained by the asymptotic expansion method.

The light-by-light contribution from the axial-vector (AV) mesons exchanges to the muon anomalous magnetic moment is estimated in the framework of the nonlocal chiral quark model. The preliminary answer for contributions from a1 and f1 mesons to (g − 2)µ is 0.34 · 10−11 and does not support the Melnikov-Vainshtein estimate 2.2 · 10−11.

We describe the computation of the one-loop muon anomalous magnetic moment and radiative penguin transitions in the minimal and custodially protected Randall–Sundrum model. A fully five-dimensional (5D) framework is employed to match the 5D theory onto the Standard Model extended by dimension-six operators. The additional contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment from the gauge-boson exchange contributions is [Formula: see text] where the first (second) number refers to the minimal (custodially-protected) model. Here 1/T denotes the location of the TeV brane in conformal coordinates, and is related to the mass of the lowest gauge-boson KK excitation by M KK ≈2.35T. We also determine the Higgs-exchange contribution, which depends on the 5D Yukawa structure and the precise interpretation of the localization of the Higgs field near or at the TeV brane.

AbstractWe propose a new scenario of using the dark axion portal at one-loop level to explain the recently observed muon anomalous magnetic moment by the Fermilab Muon g-2 experiment. Both axion/axion-like particle (ALP) and dark photon are involved in the same vertex with photon. Although ALP or dark photon alone cannot explain muon $$g-2$$ g - 2 , since the former provides only negative contribution while the latter has very much constrained parameter space, dark axion portal can save the situation and significantly extend the allowed parameter space. The observed muon anomalous magnetic moment provides a robust probe of the dark axion portal scenario.
