Smart TV enables viewers to conveniently access different multimedia content and interactive services in a single platform. This chapter addresses three important issues to enhance the performance of smart TV. The first is to design a body control system that recognizes and interprets human gestures as machine commands to control TV. The second is to develop a new social tag-based method to recommend most suitable multimedia content to users. Finally, a context-aware platform is implemented that takes into account different environmental situations in order to make the best recommendations.

SIFT has pioneered a human-automation integration architecture, called Playbook™, based on a shared model of the tasks in the domain. This shared task model provides a means of human-automation communication about plans, goals, methods and resource usage—a process akin to referencing plays in a sports team's playbook. The Playbook enables human operators to interact with subordinate systems with the same flexibility as with well-trained human subordinates, thus allowing for adaptive automation. We describe this approach and its application in an ongoing project called Playbook-enhanced Variable Autonomy Control System™ (P-VACS).

In traditional role-based access control (Role Based Access Control, RBAC), proposed the role and user-groups based on access control with context-aware (Role and Group Based Access Control with Context, RGBACC) model. RGBACC can do unified functional management to users, and can dynamically change the user's permission by the information from application environment in the context of access and security-related .This article RGBACC model applied to the actual document access control system, and the system design and implementation of a detailed description.

In this paper an example of a hierarchical context-aware run-time reconfigurable control system is presented. The context-awareness is resulting from using policy-based computing as a technology allowing the control system to replace its decision making logic in run-time in response to changing environment conditions. The proposed solution allows system experts to specify policies (AGILE policies) used in the Supervision Layer for the purpose of making decisions regarding the most appropriate controller configuration and on the other side, they can specify policies (Fuzzy Logic policies) used in the Control Layer in order to generate control signals allowing to achieve specified control goals. Novelty of the proposed solutions lays in combination of two technologies, Open Decision Point technology originating from the Software Engineering domain Policy-based Computing that is originating from the Knowledge Engineering domain in application to non-linear control systems.
