With increase in low cost internet and with advent of 4G technologies increase in internet speed, IoT-based applications are getting more popular day by day and it provides effective solution of many real time monitoring problems. In this research, a cloud based real-time monitoring system for industrial energy meter has been proposed. The prototype system provides continuous and ubiquitous access to energy consumption of the equipment under monitoring to the consumer using IoT technology. To implement the system in any industry it requires a simple and low-cost upgrade to the existing meters rather than complete replacement. Based on the experimental analysis, it is found that from the collected data, it is possible to obtain the pattern of consumption as well as faultiness present in the existing system. In terms of future scope of work, the presented work can also be extended to grid distribution level from which load distributed in the area can be estimated so that the system can be strengthened to enhance performance.

At present, the wireless communications and mobile computing technology are relatively well developed. This article proposes a new special vehicle monitoring system in order to meet the needs of intelligent transportation industry. The monitoring system for special transport vehicles is designed to pass a full range of real-time monitoring to safeguard the vehicle transport of dangerous or valuable goods in transit security. The system has two main subsystems, including vehicle terminal subsystem and server-side subsystem. Wherein, the main function of the vehicle terminal subsystem is to all-round monitoring the specialty vehicles, including video, vehicle status, goods status and environment status etc. The terminal ensures the effectiveness of monitoring by using a 3G-based hybrid network access. The server-side subsystem is primarily responsible for information collection/processing/storage, providing monitoring display and publishing the WEB services which supported logistics information management systems and real-time traffic information. In practice, this article designs and implements a prototype system based on a natural gas transport fleet.

The present study introduces a recently developed compact hybrid device for real-time monitoring of skin oxygen saturation and temperature distribution. The prototype involves a snapshot hyperspectral camera, multi-wavelength illuminator, thermal camera, and built-in computer with custom-developed software. To validate this device in-vivo we performed upper arm vascular occlusion on eight healthy volunteers. Palm skin oxygen saturation maps were analyzed in real-time using k-means segmentation algorithm and two-layer optical diffuse model. The prototype system demonstrated a satisfying performance of skin hyperspectral measurements in the spectral range of 507–625 nm. The results confirmed the reliability of the proposed system for in-vivo assessment of skin hemoglobin saturation with oxygen and microcirculation.
