For the sake of overcoming the shortcoming of some equipment such as complex wiring and much measurement parameter, a wireless state monitoring system is developed based on Zigbee, which was composed of upper monitor control PC, wireless gateway CC2530, sensor node CC2530 and sensor module. By studying the characteristic of the equipment, wireless sensor network of a center controller and six wireless sensor node was made up. Then the nod hardware circuit were designed, the wireless module software was programmed by C language, and furthermore, the user interface software was developed based on LabVIEW. The test is done to show that the system can meet state monitoring requirements for some equipment.

Sewer failure occurs is one of the major problem in urban areas. The major cause of flooding is due to overflow of sewers. Several manholes across residential areas are overloaded due to excess sewage load. This is the main reason for the occurrence of Chennai flood. Inefficient gully pot network is the major reason for the over flooding of mainstream sewage pipes. There is a need for an efficient system design for monitoring a gully pot which is capable of providing required information about sewage block is prior to the occurrence. Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) has been used to monitor the sewer blockages. The blockage will be detected and the detected information has been transmitted to the authority through a GSM and developed in mobile application.

To improve the efficiency of the remote monitoring system for logistics transportation, we proposed a remote monitoring system based on wireless sensor network and GPRS communication. The system can collect information from the wireless sensor network and transmit the information to the ZigBee interpreter. The monitoring system mainly includes the following parts: Car terminal, GPRS transmission network and monitoring center. Car terminal mainly consists by the Zigbee microcontroller and peripherals, wireless sensor nodes, RFID reader, GPRS wireless communication module composed of a micro-wireless monitoring network. The information collected by the sensor communicates through the GPRS and the monitoring center on the network coordinator, sends the collected information to the monitoring center, and the monitoring center realizes the information of the logistics vehicle in real time. The system has high applicability, meets the design requirements in the real-time acquisition and information transmission of the information of the logistics transport vehicles and goods, and realizes the function of remote monitoring.
